Just wondering how everyone is doing with listing revisions (if yours do not comply with some of the new rules).
I have some of my listings updated, but still working on it. I should be done in a couple of days. Rather than bulk edit anything, I am doing this round manually, as I change some of our policies and up some shipping prices, etc.
The key ones that must be done:
Return policy- update to 14 days (or more) instead of 7 days.
Shipping Methods- GTC listings will not renew automatically if you have "Standard or Expedited DELIVERY" (they must be updated to show "Standard or Expedited SHIPPING" instead, or choose another allowed method). So if the word "Delivery" is in there, your listing will be cancelled.
Email- Any listings with an email address anywhere in them will be cancelled.
Cheers,
AXE

I did all mine, but as is usual whenever Ebay makes changes, my sales have tanked for the last 2 weeks.
Good thing my local sales have picked up.

"Any listings with an email address anywhere in them will be cancelled"
???
My understanding is that eBay will not let you list or relist if the listing includes an email address within the description.
GTC fixed price listings will still automatically renew, even if an email address in included, until sometimes next year (date to be announced).
I am not aware of any indication that eBay would cancel existing listings with an email address.
The official policy reads:
Starting October 1, sellers will not be able to submit listings with email addresses or links that don’t help buyers transact safely and efficiently on eBay.

As far as revising listings with email address after October 1st, the question was asked last week:
http://community.ebay.ca/topic/Seller-Central/Question-About-Email/3000001958
It has not been answered by eBay yet (they have been made aware of this thread by email).

While that may be true, Pierre, on my other eBay store on .com, I am getting warnings about email addresses in my listings when I relist.
The point is, if sellers are going through all their listings to update them properly for the other changes, in my view, they should be removing the email addresses now while they are doing the rest. Why make more work later, when they can do it now while they are making their other changes?
The other item under review by eBay, is phone numbers also being removed, which I do not agree with at all. We will see about that one.

"if sellers are going through all their listings..."
I agree.
However, since I do not have to make any changes to my existing GTC listings (I already offer 30 day return privilege and all listings have fixed shipping costs to Canada, the USA and overseas), there is no point for me wasting time removing the email adrress from my listings.
Last time eBay announced a similar policy, three years ago, a wasted a lot of time revising my listings just to find out, two months later, that eBay had changed its mind and decided not to change the policy regarding email address within the description.
I'll worry about it next year... if I am still using eBay as a venue to sell my "stuff'.

Right on, Pierre. I agree.
But I would guess that eBay will get rid of listings with email addresses on them. The lady from eBay who called me last week to advise of the changes was adament that ebay wants to go to exclusive eBay messaging system only.
(she said it promotes "safer" trading)...which we all know means that eBay wants to make sure that they are getting all the $ in their pockets while eliminating the "off eBay" transaction potential.
Cheers,

So, if I don't go through my listings and manually find the ones that are non-standard, eBay will do it for me?
Good.
Less work for me, and when I relist as Sell Similar I believe I will get a short Visibility boost.
I am presuming they will to to my Unsold rather than just disappearing forever. The former has been the case in earlier changes in Standards.

Yes that is true. The other change coming in a few months is the 3 and 7 day returns options will no longer be available and a cash refund option will be required for all returns.
Lots of fun.
