SELLERS BEWARE PAYPAL FRAUD COMPANY !!

I just had a client from USA defraud us. Sent a t-shirt on the 21th of December and she filed a refund on the 24th through PAYPAL. Package was sent out SMALL PACKET AIR MAIL. Now I lost $46.00 US because I can not provide a tracking number. Tried to explain & argue this to PAYPAL half hour but they really don't care about sellers (ESPECIALLY FROM CANADA) This person I sent to has a comfirmed address with positive feedback of 6 transaction (she opened here account with Ebay only a few days before december 20th). I am guessing that she has done this to the other sellers. This is unbelieveble ! That Paypal would not provide me any information on this fraud client and would not even cancell her account.

PAYPAL DOESN'T CARE ABOUT SELLERS(ONLY MONEY) !!! I would like to find another company with a better service and better protection for the seller . Does anyone know of ??

Thank you
Fred

Fred..The only solution I have found is to stop taking paypal, and accept money orders...Sales might slip a little, but if someone wants your item, they will pay for the money order. Most walmarts in the US sell US$ money orders for under a buck....

Unfortunately it is a cost of doing business much like shop-lifting in a B & M.

Hello and sorry this happened to you. There's a lot of discussion about this topic on the US Powerseller board, which you can check out. It's one of the top threads. The consensus there seems to be that for international purchases, you should require a trackable shipping method if the buyer wants to use PayPal, and signature confirmation for anything over $250.00. I have been really lucky with my international customers, who have been a pleasure, even the ones that didn't speak english and communicated through those awful online translators. I have never had that requirement, but will take the advice and start doing that for higher $ items.

Sometimes the local post office you're shipping to can be pretty helpful, putting you in touch with the carrier for that route. I did that once and the carrier had delivered it the prior day. I emailed the customer to let him know that I had spoken to his carrier, gave him the carrier's name and the problem disappeared. Sometimes you can win a PayPal appeal, I have, but it takes a lot of effort.
