Seller Scam report

So I bought 2 watches which are 2 cheap ($3 each) watches and it came in late. The first watch worked fine but the 2nd watch broke in just 1 day. I contacted the seller saying I want a replacement and I have picture and video off proof that it was broken, So the seller  said they will reship a new watch to me and I have to wait. I've waited 2 month for my watch since last time it took 1 month and 2 week to arrive. I am thinking that they lied about reshipping me a new watch, So I contacted 1 last time saying I will Contact Ebay since the reshipment didn't arrive but they purposely ignored me since it's been a week since I left a message for them.

Do you guys know if I can contact Ebay to report this because the customer protection was over since I thought they were going to reship my item which never came?

I know it was just like a $3 watch which I don't really mind but the item took 1 month and 2 week to ship to Canada which was WAY OVER the estimated date and made me mad just waiting so long for 2 item that should had arrived in under 1 month. Then finding out 1 watch didn't work and then telling me they will reship a new one which end up being a lie and ignoring my message asking about my reship item makes me more mad.

Do you know if I can contact Ebay for this reason since when I looked at the seller negative feedback  its filled with people saying the items never arrived and 3 comments saying that the seller lied about reshipping them their items.

Right now I don't mind losing the $3 they can keep it but I want to still revise my feedback and actually report this to Ebay since the seller practically scam me and then ignored my message.

Re: Seller Scam report

You can add a Response to any feedback that has been left. The seller's or your own.

You can go to the credit card you used to pay (Paypal is just the mediator, keeping your financial information private from the seller) and ask about a chargeback.

Keep in mind that, at minimum wage, a $3 watch cost you about 20 minutes of your time.

Oh and yeah, promising a replacement is a common scam with Asian sellers, and is starting to spread to North America.

Re: Seller Scam report

Wait so its been like over 2 month to tell you the truth since I waited for the reshipment can I still get my money back and its a debit card from a bank so dose it still work?

Re: Seller Scam report

A debit card takes money from your bank account and gives it to the seller. You can't get it back.

Don't use a debit card online. Don't use a bank account online. Don't use a Paypal balance online. None can be refunded. Once the money leaves your account it is gone gone gone.

And not a prepaid "credit" card either, again once you empty a prepaid card the money is gone. Same with gift cards.

These are all real money.

A credit card is smoke and mirrors. The bank is lending you money and you are promising to pay them. Unlike the instruments above, you pay interest for the loan.

The two months is not usually a problem. Credit cards usually allow between 60 and 90 days for chargebacks. Some allow up to 120 days. But you are paying interest on the balance you spend, so the bank can afford the risk.

Once the money leaves your account it is gone IF you don't file a claim before the time limit.  But if you follow the rules and it is a legitimate complaint, money can be refunded even if the payment was made from a bank account or Paypal account balance.

Re: Seller Scam report

I to was scammed by a seller in Canada in July, sent me an email saying my parcel was unclaimed. Then they told me they had to repackage it and resend it.By then, the 45 days were up, could not open a case. They took my money and never sent the item.I checked their feedback today and there are several other complaints about not receiving their items. Why can't Ebay ban these fraudulent sellers?I sent 6 messages to the seller and no response,,, bloody thieves!

Re: Seller Scam report

Unfortunately you do not have any recourse with eBay or Paypal, since you were convinced to allow the 45 day deadline to pass.

A learning experience. Doncha hate those?

All is not lost however, Go to the credit card you really paid with (PP is just a mediator) phone the 1-800 number and ask about a chargeback. Have all your dates, transaction numbers, payment amounts etc on hand to help the clerk process your refund.

As noted above, if you used a bank balance, PP balance, debit card or prepaid credit card, with your PP payment you are SOL.  Another learning experience.
