Shill bidding!!!

Get this....my account was cancelled today for "shill bidding". I only had about 30 items in auction, and about 270 fixed price in my store. I did not shill bid but have had a hell of a lot of people win items with 0 feedback and not pay....over twenty outstanding payments owed. I lost out on $1600 worth of sales finishing today alone,,,,and their telling me they aren't going to refund my listing fees. What gives, i supply items which i don't need to shill to make more valuble!!!! Can they do this??? Could it be anything to do with comments ive been making on this board recently. Paul.

Shill bidding!!!

Your account shows active with 301 items for sale.

What are you trying to do???

And no, any actions by eBay re shill bidding would not be because what you say here.

xena, my acount isn't active. ive got loads of no feedback buyers....some who have won over $80 worth of comics who just haven't paid......

...just sent them this email..."i did NOT shill bid....please prove evidence to me that i actually shill bid. I have had numerous bidders and winners with 0 feedback....................who HAVE both paid and not paid for comics......these are not accounts i own......these people are bums, with no feedback who bid on items and then decide not to pay leaving me no recourse than to struggle and get back extortionate fees off you!!! now your telling me you think these bids are shill. how frustrating is it for that to happen in the first place and then your service provider (in this case feebay) accuses you of what is effectivly fraud....can't wait until we can't even leave them negative feedback........i only had approx fifty auction items and all comics i knew would bring in substansive ammounts of cash, the other 300 items were store items. please close my store and reimburse all my fees!!! Paul"

Xena is right on both points...

1. Your listings are appearing fine for me. What makes you think your account was canceled? Are you sure you are not the victim of a phishing e-mail?

2. You would never have your account canceled for shill bidding based upon any statements made here.

Hm,

I can "see" all your listings but when I try to read one (I was going to place a bid), the listing no longer exists, correct.

You have no idea what kind of software eBay rolled out about 2 years ago.

They have become very good at detecting shill-bidding, and so they should! I applaud them for this.

I doubt they would pull all of someone's listings for one "oops" (or perhaps they do? shill-bidding is taken very seriously) so I would think that they came across multiple and continuous incidents in your case.

Phone the PS tel line as emailing will probably get you a canned reply.

Good luck!

Dig deep...!

eBay has the ability to trace accounts to IP blocks, narrow regions etc, which is all part of their attempts to curb shill-bidding.

Shilling is a major concern for buyers (I am one of them) and I do believe eBay is doing the right thing by clamping down on this practice.

Again, I am not saying you did but their servers got the indication you did. At least that's how I understand it works.

Shill bidding!!!

That depends.

If eBay suspended your account on not.

If it is suspended, you could contact your buyers via their email but they don't have to follow through if they don't want to.

I your account is still valid I would think that they would have to pay.

I guess you could close your account but would wait for everyone to pay.

Why close the account? You have good stats. Do something else, think about it and you might come back later. Seems like a waste to ditch all that FB.

You PP account should not be affected (unless you also have PP issues). Many PP users have never transacted on eBay.

Although I detest leaving neg. FB I do so for buyers that don't pay, don't communicate and don't respond to a UID (these generally being 0 FB users) to warn the community.

Do you realize that you have left only one single neg. FB in all your history? I'm sure it did not go unnoticed...

Anyhow, gotta run and post packages - gotta keep those stars shining LOL!

Good Luck!

Xena, thanks for the advice pet...but ive literally just sold everything.....this isn't the first time something like this has happened. They cancelled about 230 listing recently after i spent about 12 hrs listing them on a 10c listing day. They told me my account had been hijacked and someone else was lsiting items on my account. I said "That was me"...oh we're sorry, had to relist everything manually and lost the listing fees. Sucks!!! Paul.
