I tend to agree. It seems that Canada to Canada shipping prices are somewhat inflated no matter which way it is shipped. Not all are, but all too frequently I have seen this.
Makes one scratch their head.

Cheaper than walking the item over to your buyer yourself if the buyer lives some distance away, though.

Keep in mind that you are not paying just postage.
You are paying postage and packaging. Bubblewrap ain't free. Bubble envelopes cost around 50 cents depending on size. There is GST on postage stamps. Parcels also are charged a Fuel fee. Some sellers include an insurance premium in the s&h, although that is supposed to be in the asking price.
Here's an idea of the price of boxes (the whole catalog is kinda fun to read. okay I'm easily amused.)
http://catalog.uline.ca/WebProject.asp?CodeId=7.7.4.7&BookCode=ksc13flx#
So a 63cent stamp on a 50 cent bubble envelope plus 15% sales tax on the envelope and the stamp-- we're already more than half way to the objectionable $2.00.

I don't buy that. Sellers but that stuff in bulk, not sheet by sheet or box by box. I recently bought a pair of sandals coming from Manitoba. $20. for shipping!! I just sent my niece 4 books to BC and I paid the same price. Are you going to tell me a pair of Spring sandals weigh the same as 4 books?
Face it, some Sellers are gouging buyers with shipping...and getting away with it!

"a pair of Spring sandals weigh the same as 4 books?"
Do not blame the seller so fast.
Yes, a pair of sandals may cost as much as four books. It is not just a matter of weight but size of the box. Canada Post calls it volumetric weight,
To take an extreme example, basically, it would cost you twenty times more to ship a pound of feathers as it would a pound of books.

I see where you are going with this, but the size would be about the same.
I see a lot of Sellers here trying to justify the costs. Perhaps you are not one of those that are gouging. I never said ALL Sellers are doing this, just some. And I pass them on by. I am not stupid and I know what things cost, so when I see a gouge I know it.
Also I fail to understand Sellers that use intl Shipping when sending to Canada from Canada. Why would one do that? Especially when CP can do the same job cheaper.
Am I wrong in this? I don't know if there are benefits to Intl Shipping within the same country.

"Why would one do that?"
There are many reasons.
Many (most ?) Canadian sellers lists on eBay.com. Why? Because they do. Typically, a Canadian seller without an eBay store can list 50 listings on eBay.ca and 50 listings on eBay.com without paying listing fees (they still need to pay commission on their sales - generally about 10%).
When listing on eBay.com Canadian sellers cannot specify Canada Post as a service. They have little option but the generic "international shipping" as eBay.com is basically designed for American sellers.
One needs a lot of eBay experience - years of it - and thousands of transactions to fully understand all the ins and outs of selling on eBay.
