I sold an item specifying that I can ship within canada but somebody from Europe bid on it. He can't pay because "One or more of the items below cannot be purchased because the seller has not specified shipping costs to the location selected.'' What can I do ? May I still sell it to him ? Can I change the shipping cost ? Do I have to cancel the selling ? Thank you.

Shipping fee.

Yes. You can sell it to him.

You send him an invoice with the shipping cost for AIR MAIL (trust me on this) shipping to his country. Find the cost on canadapost.ca and use the Business tab. It has more choices.

He pays : you ship.

If he is shocked by the cost - and you will be when you see international AIR MAIL rates- you can offer him a Mutual Cancellation. If he accepts both of you are free of the transaction and both can leave feedback (so keep it friendly).

If he is shocked by the cost and demands a cheaper (ie Surface ) rate, explain that your policies do not allow that. Let the invoice with the AIR MAIL shipping sit. If he pays, fine. Leave positive feedback. The service should include tracking. Give him the tracking number.

If he does not pay, wait until Day Four and start an Unpaid Item Dispute. Add him to your Blocked Bidder List.

Surface is cheap, but takes so long that your buyer can win an Item Not Recieved Dispute before it arrives. Then he has the money and the item. That's why you use Air Mail and why you don't allow the service to be changed to Surface.
