Has anyone noticed you can now ship with CP or UPS from inside Paypal?

Anyone tried it yet?

Looks pretty easy and simple, but the rates don't seem to be as good as what I get now with EST. Could there be a way to ship on your CP account from there?

Also, if we ship CP Small Packet from Paypal, will they consider it as a proof of shipment?

Those are standard links on all their status pages, regardless of if the standard has delivery confirmation or not. Did your label have a bar code? No bar code, no delivery confirmation. Small packet does not have delivery confirmation.

If you think about this logically you will realize that there is no way Canada Post will offer delivery confirmation on such a low priced service. Xpresspost is the delivery method used for air mail delivery to the U.S. with delivery confirmation, and it is 4 times the cost.

You have an item number. It isn't the same as a tracking number. No bar code = no tracking = no delivery confirmation.

I'm sorry that Canada Post has made it seem like they have given you this great thing, but they haven't.

Instead of debating with us, who you don't believe, give CP a call with 1-866-607-6301 and ask them about it.

I don't want to seem like I'm down on this new service, I'm not. I think what CP and PayPal have given us is something very important:

Proof of shipping that any PayPal employee can check.

I'm not certain that PayPal will consider this as ultimate proof when it comes to claims made through the Buyer Complaint process, but I believe it will likely make some buyers a lot less jittery and perhaps make them less likely to file a claim in the first place.

I'm guessing that proof that you paid for postage and proof that you actually put it in the mailbox are 2 different things. Although like wonderland said it might make it less likely that someone would file a claim. (or at least a false one)

Proof of shipping that any PayPal employee can check.

So what, even if it were proof of shipping (it isn't, it's only proof you bought postage). The payPal employee would say "yes I can see that you shipped this unfortunately we require PROOF OF DELIVERY.

Plain and simple nothing here will help in a PayPal chargeback with small packets.

Can anyone confirm if the shipping label is the same type as the EST label? Specifically, does it show the postage amount on the buyer's copy?

Either PayPal is a disorganized institution that doesn't handle cases in a common manner or some people who have been reporting that they are winning cases by simply showing PayPal that the item is shown as shipped online without it showing that the item has been signed for.

thebonnieshop: I can confirm that the postage amount is shown on the customers copy. I just received my camera that was shipped 2 days ago using CP through paypal.

Postage doesnt show up on the customers copy Iam looking at it now.
If its not a tracking number why does it show up in tracking and have the ability to request delivery notification?

There are disorganized BUT there is NO WAY PayPal will accept proof of shipping. I think the comments you have seen refer to this...

Proof of delivery without signature confirmation.... signatures are only required if the value is over US$250.00

I can guarantee that PayPal will ONLY accept online proof of DELIVERY.

Well, I think I'll continue to use the on-line tools.

1. wouldn't let me change my funding option - HAD to fund thru my PP account.

2. actually cost MORE than if I had used my PP debit card ($5.82US thru Canada Post vs $5.97US through PP), plus no cash-back.

3. didn't print the right-hand column of the receipt (need for income tax purposes)

UNLESS we get different treatment from paypal, it's not worth it (to me).

I personally don't like this new system, I wish there was a way i could take these SHIP buttons of my PayPal page.

I would rather pay the 5% more at the counter, then entering all this information for each package. eg: weight, dimesions etc..that means each item has to be packaged at time of processing through PayPal.
