Should I be Concerned?

Hi all,

I won an auction 2 weeks ago now. I paid for the item immediately by Paypal. in my purchase history the "shipped" icon hasn't been activated.

I decided to get in touch with the buyer this week just to confirm that they indeed have shipped it out.

They haven't replied to either of my messages. At first I thought maybe they were away but they listed some new items for auction yesterday.

Should I be concerned?

Give it another week.If the seller still hasn't responded, open an item not received dispute through PayPal.That should get the seller's attention and he will very likely contact you.If he does,do not under any circumstances agree to close the dispute until, after you have the refund in your hands. If you close the dispute before receiving a refund, you will not be able to open another dispute if the seller refuses to refund you. Some sellers are experts at stringing along a buyer until the dispute deadline expires. There is a 45 day time limit for opening the PayPal dispute which starts when you send payment for the item.

That little brown envelope icon means nothing, really.  Some sellers mark an item shipped after they get home from the mailbox, others mark it shipped right after you pay and then send it at their convenience.  Some never mark it at all.

Two weeks is not a long time at all, certainly not when you have just over 6 weeks to file a Not Received claim.  For myself, I don't pester sellers about delivery until 4 weeks has passed, simply because I have often waited that long or longer for the item to show up.  If you are kind and unthreatening, sometimes you get a 'confession' that the thing wasn't put in the mail for 2 weeks.

I doubt you will need to file a claim, but if it comes to that, the following link will explain a bit about it:

And as you have heard, the important thing is to never close a claim until you have either your money back or your item.  And always file no later than day 43.
