Should I file a report on this situation?

I bought (and already paid) a piece of clothing today that says it's in stock from a seller with a 290135 feedback score and 98.9% positive feedback.  I got an email just now from what seems to be his store saying this...

Instead of contacting me through ebay, he emailed me and sent me that message.  Should I take his word that he'll ship it or am I being scammed and I should report it even though he has such a high Feedback Score and Positive Feedback?  I just find it weird that he lied about it being available on the listing then chose to contact me via email instead of ebay to talk about it and I don't want to be wasting my time waiting for something if this is a scam.

Should I file a report on this situation?

What was the purchase date?

Is the (Asian?) seller using Air Mail?

I'd give him the three days (72 hours) and if he notifies you that the garment has shipped by Air Mail, don't worry until Day 40 after the transaction closed.

Put it on your calendar.

On that day go here:

http://resolutioncenter.ebay.ca/

and file an Item Not Received claim.
