I do not recall seeing anything like this listed here before.

I thought I would start a string of brilliant buyer requests and comments that everyone can contribute.

Feel free to add your great buyer questions or comments.

Here is a question I recieved from a buyer.

Question

Dear fitzheuen_palms_and_pdas,

Will you take $50.00 for this? Your competitor is selling them for less.

Response

Thanks for the offer but we are not interested in selling for less that what we have this listed as we do not have a best offer on this item. We suggest that you purchase this from our competitor if they offer a better deal. Thanks for the email.

Re: Silly Buyer Question for the Day Add your buyer Questions & Comments

Is the new address substantially different, like does it say Bolivia, for instance?

The new address is still in Barranquilla, but has a real street number (street + 4 digit number).

Imagine someone from Toronto specifying:

John Doe, Toronto

Btw. I have a buyer from Toronto and he claims he has real address, we checked it 3 times, his order bounced back, he call CanadaPost, they promised they would try to deliver next time, and seems he is still not getting the resend. How do you expect post in 1mil town to deliver mis-addressed parcel when they cannot deliver properly addressed one ?

;)

Re: Silly Buyer Question for the Day Add your buyer Questions & Comments

Well, Andy Warhol once sent a letter to Hugh Heffner and all he had for an address was the Playboy trademark on the envelope.

It got there - the letter said, "That you are receiving this is a measure of your success."

Somehow, I don't think this is going to be one of those times, though - maybe one of those names is an enclave where they know this person? -------------------------------------------------------------------

Another one:

Customer places an order (on my website). He leaves invalid email address (nobody@nowhere), no phone number and note not to place him on any mailing list nor contact him.

Now I receive a message on my company voicemail that he did not hear from us and what is happening to his order.

Fortunately I was able to call back the number he called from (he has some kind of system that called has to identify themselves before he picks-up).

People go to great lengths to protect their privacy and then they wonder why nobody talks to me :))

Re: Silly Buyer Question for the Day Add your buyer Questions & Comments

I just got an email from someone in Canada, asking if I can send something by USPS.

Every shipping method in my listings says "US Postal Service".

I specifically state in my listings that I will send Canadian orders by Canada Post.

Oy. -------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow is it amazing how sellers are thought as being irresponsible or incompetent by buyers.

Oh, that's one's from someone who isn't shipping what people have ordered, so he's looking to shaft you a different way.

I wonder if Revenue Canada would accept a receipt from erotic service as a business write-off.

They do it all the time - just mark it "consulting expense." -------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: Silly Buyer Question for the Day Add your buyer Questions & Comments

This one came in today from an American (blonde ?) customer;

"Hello Pierre,

I hope that you remember me. I ordered some MJ stamps from you very recently. I just wanted to ask you a little question to see if maybe you knew.

How much would it cost me to send a letter envelope weighing 2 1/2 oz to Canada. I saw that when you mailed your stamps to me you used certain postage from Cananda, but I wanted to know from my end how much would it cost me to send over there. Hope to hear from you very soon. I need to send this out by no later than tomorrow. "

My reply was to suggest she checks the USPS website or her local post office!

Re: Silly Buyer Question for the Day Add your buyer Questions & Comments

I think that we all get these kind've questions once in awhile.
I tend to put videos of some of my stuff on youtube and link back to it.
One video is of a laptop turning on yet in rough cosmetic shape with missing cd drive and hard drive.
It states that in the auction, it states in the video.

The question:
Does this computer boot? Does it have a CD drive?

My response:
Did you read the listing? Did you watch the video?

I also state that I take paypal only unless picking up locally.

His answer after that was, do you take personal cheques?

Re: Silly Buyer Question for the Day Add your buyer Questions & Comments

Here's one. A repeat US customer keeps writing this to me in the notes section of her Paypal payment:

If no one is home please leave the package inside the porch door.

Re: Silly Buyer Question for the Day Add your buyer Questions & Comments

Maybe she wants you to write those instructions on the package since you are the one sending it to her. Of course she could leave a note on her door but that lets everyone know nobody is home.

I have a repeat customer that includes "Leave package in the horse trailer" right in her address.

Re: Silly Buyer Question for the Day Add your buyer Questions & Comments

Dear westernstargifts,

wow, what a price drop. i paid fourteen ninety nine for this necklace from you.

Reply:

Actually you paid only $12.95 for the necklace which is still the Buy It Now price. This listing is in auction format and the "start" price is 11.99 which is only 96 cents less than you paid. I do run auctions periodically and you are more than welcome to bid on them rather than paying the Buy It Now price.

Last month a U.S. buyer asked if he could purchase a large quantity of an identical item from me. I agreed to give him a quantity discount and free shipping.

A day or 2 later he called and asked how far it was from Stratford to Toronto. When I told him it was about 100 miles he asked if I could bring the merchandise to the Toronto Airport as he would be there the next day (Friday...Toronto....traffic!!!). I replied that the gas would cost me more than I would make on it. And he asked again!! Next he asked if I could deliver it if he crossed the border at Buffalo.....noooo!! that would be even further. The total cost was only $150.

Then he paid by e-check.........which bounced!!........?:|
