Small Package Rates

I started another thread on Greyhound courier however some may not read it thinking only that Greyhound handles large parcels.

If you insure your packages right now with CP, then these rates may be a competitive alternative for you from Greyhound and they will pick up at your business/home and deliver right to your customer's business/home.

SMALL PACKAGES
You can pre-purchase 10 Doculetters (weight 0-1 lb) for $7.50 each or 10 Docupaks (0-5 lbs) for $9.50 each and both are for Door to Door service from Greyhound.

There is a $2 discount for Station to Station service meaning you could ship items under 1 lb anywhere for $5.50 each or $7.50 each for less than 5 pounds but you would have to drop off and the client would have to pick up at a local Greyhound station.

$100 insurance is included.

Are these shipping rates for packages within Canada?

I would have to assume that it is only for Canada as their rates to ship Doculetter or Docupak to the US are too high to be discounted that much for only prepaying for 10 waybills.

The brochure cleary indicates that the pre-payment discount rates are for within our outside originating Province.

I couldn't seem to find any information about delivery times for their standard service.

Also noticed they has a $6 charge for Residential deliveries. Not sure if this would apply to the prepaid labels.

The $6 does not apply to the Residential deliveries with thr Duopak or Duroletter and does not apply all of the time to parcel deliveries. As an example, registered companies in a residence are excluded from the $6 surcharge.

You can also ship COD for $15 surcharge which gives you a new billing method if the customer wants to pay the $15.

I didnt have an opportunity to speak to the Greyhound rep today, hopefully I will tomorrow.

www.shipgreyhound.ca may have some additional information.

At this point I only have the brochure and had spoken to some counter reps on Sunday afternoon.

I see this as an opportunity for me to at least have some good alternativess to CP for shipping within Canada.

I mean NO gasoline surcharges, NO cubing, NO miscellaneous charges I have to deduct for. At this point the over counter rates are competitive to CPs rates for me at a Level 3 discount which is the 2nd lowest CP rate (level 4).
