Stamps question

All Canadian stamps issued since 1859 can be used in Canada for postage.

What to look for?  Buy mint stamps clearly described as with full gum.  Avoid (unused) stamps without gum - they have most likely been used already and went through the postal service without cancellation.  It is against Canadian rules to re-use such stamps for the prepayment of postage.

You will find many Canadian sellers on eBay and elsewhere offering Canadian postage below face value. Discount can be very attractive, depending on what you need.

If you need larger denominations ($1, $2, $5, $8 and $10) you will not find many at a large discount.  On the other hand, if you are willing to work a bit harder and combine many smaller denominations, there are many good deal out there.

Make sure you deal with a reliable dealer.

If you have very large needs ($5,000 or $10,000+) then it would be best to deal with a philatelic auction house directly.  These lots come for sale regularly.
