Tech Help Please

Hi. For the past 18 hours, I have not been able to log into any of the discussion boards except this one. I get an error message for the U.S. board, seller central, pro buyers, etc, etc. I am also unable to fully complete an "ASQ", getting the same error message. I am not suspended, or banned (as far as i know) Before I go to a neighbour's house to try on their computer, anyone else currently having this same issue? Or, can anyone suggest a "fix" Thanks for your time. Enjoy the weekend.

I have tried the usual, emptied cache, cookies, i had tried the "restore point" trick but, nothing has helped yet.

That is the best thing you could do at this time to confirm if the problem is at your end or not.

I did go to the neighbours, no access problem there at all. Problem is internal. I have spent way to much time on "fix" sites. Tried at least 5, still a no go.

Connected directly. Acces to the boards have never been an issue up until yesterday. Still cannot send an ASQ.

I was just reading the tech board on the .com message boards. In one thread, many of them are having problems with the message system and one person there is having problems getting to the message boards . I don't know if you are having problems reading the boards as well so I'll post what they said. LINK

I'm glad to see it isnt just me having the issues. The exact same thing happened (error and blank screen with small error icon at bottom left of screen), trying to get to THESE message boards just now!


I dont think its a malware issue, every other site I try to goto works with no issue. The only way I was able to get here was to disable scripting in the browser. I'm not sure if every version of IE8 has the 'Developer Tools F12' under the 'Tools' bar, but if any of yours do, this is the temp fix. Just goto disable, and check script and LIKE MAGIC the pages load.

Ok --- Here is the magic fix......Goto windows update, let it install the current updates, reboot and all is well again. Its been a while since I did my updates, so I thought I'd give it a shot and it worked.


You may not be having the same problem but perhaps this will help. 🙂

pjcdn2005 Hi, thank you. I clicked on your link and yet again, got the same "internet explorer cannot open up this page" I have spent about 5-6 hours on this already, still nothing. Have tried every fix shown on the IE pages, updates, script changes, downloading computer "cleaning" programs, rubbing my belly and patting my head, nothing. I tried accessing Markdown manager and cant even get to it. Nor ASQ, nor ANY discussion board except this one. I can, however, list items for sale. Too bizarre. I am going to bite the proverbial bullet and pay a computer person to do a house call. I will post their findings.

Yes, I have tried downloading Firefox a few times and each time, after going through the whole process, I get a different type error message, saying that they cannot connect me to Firefox as I am not hooked up to the Internet. Hmmm.

Update. I phone a Mr Fix-It type guy a few hours ago, left a voice mail message. Again tried accessing the US discussion boards and bam, it connected. I logged out, tried again, 2 for 2. No rhyme. No reason. There is a thread on the US board about there being a "glitch" that was being worked on so, apparently I was not alone. Either way, thanks to all for their suggestions. Enjoy your evening.
