Thank you to those who posted earlier this morning regarding the address that I posted that I needed help with.

My post was reported to eBay and removed.

However, before whomever reported it.....I wanted to let you know that your responses helped me 100% to get this package off to my customer today.

The purchases were valued at $3.00....as these items are all priced on sale and way below regular wholesale since I'm closing my store. So...$ wise...not a big deal, but it means a lot to me to offer top notch customer service and get things going to where they belong! And, sometimes for me, as others, international addresses as well as messages are difficult to understand.

I appreciate your help when I needed it!

I did receive a message from eBay.ca moderation team, so I guess someone is reading and reporting!

Yes, I know....but I have another question...

Why do people use mail-forwarding addresses? I charged this lady $7.00 to ship to the country she lives in and it doesn't cost that much to ship to the States. So, I need to refund her which is not a problem.

But, I'm just curious, why do they use these kind of addresses? There would not be any duty on $3.00 worth of product.

Ah......nothing like being on eBay a few weeks shy of 10 years and getting such a special e-mail!

I had two customers recently who paid the international shipping charge and had the package shipped to the U.S. I refunded the difference in both cases. I thought it was rather strange too.

Forwarding addresses are often used to circumvent high shipping and / or duty charges, real or perceived.

Many of these buyers purchase oodles of goods and have the shipment consolidated.

I have several customers in Central and South America using mail box forwarders in Miami while Russians use forwarders in Brooklyn, NY.

For many, that is the only way they can purchase from the USA since they have a US address on both PayPal and eBay as so many American sellers will not ship to South America or the old Soviet block.

In fact, many Canadian buyers use the same principle using near the border mail drops in WA or NY states to buy from Americans not wishing to sell to Canada or charging exhorbitant shipping rates to get protection.
