Is it in trouble?
The Conservatives always advertised themselves as open and accountable, etc. Even if they weren't, it was excused since there wasn't anyone else to vote for anyways. Now that there is, it seems the public is looking at them a little more closely. In opposition, the Conservatives would go ape over 100 million missing. They called it a major boondoggle. Now 3.1 Billion is missing and it's no big deal. Contracts are made for hundreds of millions and it turns out other countries are getting the same deal for 10 million. The auditor General can't even figure out where our taxpayer dollars are spent because they don't have the documents. This Gov't won't provide them. Harper is actually standing up in the house and defending a hundred million spent on TV ads promoting economic action ads during sports events that could actually hire quite a few people he's laying off. He's also defending MP's that were caught cheating during the last election and actually insinuating that if the region doesn't vote for his cheating MP in the by-election they may be cut off from Federal funding projects.
On top of that they are now saying that opposition MP's can now longer talk to the RCMP without their permission. So, in other words, the RCMP are now in their total control and no wrong doing by the Gov't will ever be investigated. So while our Gov't claims to hate communist Gov'ts they certainly like some aspects of it and are acting like communists.
From recent polls, it would suggest that Justin, inexperienced as he may be, is giving them a run for their money. It would be nice if the Conservatives didn't actually use our tax money to print anti-justin ads. That is an abuse of tax dollars. If the Conservatives want to run ads, or print ads, against Justin, the leader of one of the opposition, then it should be done with Conservative party dollars and the donations they receive from their supporters. Those 10 percenters allowed are for communicating with tax payers about programs available to the public. Not for partisan advertising or hate ads. My own MP ( Conservative ) , isn't even sending those ads into his own riding. He's using your tax dollars to send them to other ridings.
The Conservative brand in Canada is in trouble. Without any competition they may look good. With any competition or scrutiny at all, they sorely lack in ethics, accountability, openness, transparency and honesty.
The majority of Canadians want ethics, accountability, openness, transparency and honesty. They were promised this by this Gov't and they don't have it. In fact, they have less of this by this Gov't than they had by the last Liberal Gov't. At least the last Gov't acknowledged their shortcomings which this one will not.

"...so that Harper gets another majority."
It is still a free country, Everyone can have a dream.

Did you expect him to get a majority in the last election?
No one expected the liberals to get obliterated, but it happens.

The brilliant CPC strategists have set up a conflict with CUPW and other public service unions just before the next election. The LPC won't be bale to duck the issue like how most of them stayed home rather then vote on the record on the CP back to work legislation. Plus the new riding boundaries are advantage CPC
Trudeau is just in over his head

That is easy said after the fact.
I remember you and others defending the visiting professor.
Times are changing in Canada and it's not to the left.
Look at BC.
The liberals got a majority, much to the surprise of everyone.

The brilliant CPC strategists
:^O
Speaking of counting your chickens before they're hatched...
Those "brilliant" strategists might want to keep an eye on Harper bag men and their $90,000 cheques!

I NEVER defended him other than against the Harper media attacks. I NEVER said he would be a great PM (even though better than Harper). I DID say I feared Harper would finally get his majority because of another bad choice by the Liberals. Your memory is selective. You will probably say later that I defended Justin Trudeau from the beginning but you will forget that I have said many times that I have not decided on voting for him yet.

As the little bald headed IRS guy said to bugs bunny when bugs thought he had finally gotten rid of him........"Oh now......I wouldn't be too sure about that".

You have said that Trudeau will beat Harper.
I haven't totally discounted Trudeau either, but prefer Harper atm.
