Good Questions!
You don't have to open an EAP account prior to signing up for the card. However, to have the points you earn deposited in the account you will have to eventually open it up.
As for points per $1.00 Cdn spent on the card, the current rate is for every $1.00 Cdn net retail purchased made on the card you will receive .7 eBay Anything Points. For example; if one spend $1000 Cdn $ in net retail purchases you should receive 700 eBay Anything Points.
As for the interest rates on this card, as a PowerSeller exclusive PowerSellers receive a better 6 month promotional interest rate and ongoing rate. See terms and conditions on the application form.
Hope this helps.

Not to argue with you here. These are high interest rates. The low introductory rate is to reel you in. It is then hoped that you will ring up your limit and keep it there. Six months later whamo! As I said a line of credit is way cheaper to have than a cc. Could you tell me what eBay is getting out of this? Not being done out of the goodness of their heart. eBay is about earning money for themselves & the shareholders. Why would eBay try and get people to use such a high rate interest cc if there was nothing in it for them? Just thinking business smart here. Not argueing

It is a totally unsecured card, no different from any other cc except set at a very low interest rate and not for an introductory period.

Sorry about passing on the info to Don about another company's credit card and rates. I got caught up trying to help and didnt mean to suggest something other than the eBay credit card you have introduced.
Let me add to my comments by stating that the TD/Cda Trst card does not give you eBay Anything Points, an important fact to consider!

Hope you did not get pink slapped. That would be the first for this board. I believe there is no response to me query as the whole story is not laid on the line by eBay. The points in my opinion count for very little considering the rate on the card. If eBAy, as an example, is earning 5% of the 18.9% rate then what is a point really worth. Just another way for eBay to have more from me and my fees are plenty high now. Plus paypals poor exchange rate is a killer on my profit margin. I just see a line of credit as a better option. I am not complaining just trying to earn the most I can. Still called business smarts.

I thought I would clarify the key benefit for the card. While as a PowerSeller the interest rate is lower than the regular card holders, this is not the only reason you might want to have a card.
The ongoing benefit of the card are the eBay Anything Points that you earn on every net retail purchase you put on the card. Then you can use the points on eBay to buy items you want using your points.
This is great for both buyers and sellers. Sellers will see more buyers on the site with more to spend and buyers get to buy more without spending more money.
Hope this helps!

As I have asked from Darla what eBay is getting from this, it is obvious they will not say. I am positive that it would not be looking so glamorous anymore. 18.9% is not a good rate by any means. My cc has a 9.9% rate and my line of credit is prime +1/4%. eBay points are not much when compared to the big picture. I understand eBay is trying to do things for us but I also think they should approach us for an opinion first as we seem to be doing better than they are at negotiating. As an example, you with Canada Post. Just because we are not as big as eBay does not mean we are not smart business people. eBay with all its cash flow should be able to negotiate much better deals than us. Darla, the low INTRODUCTORY rate is great but this is only to get you reeled in. Six months later your cc is maxed out and whamo in kicks 18.9%. I receive these offers at least severals times a month in my mail and it is all bad news for the person who falls for it. My offers go directly to the G file. Thanks for trying anyways but I will continue to do my own negotiating.
