From Stat Canada this morning:
=============================================================================
Employment fell by 46,000 in December, the result of declines in full-time work. The unemployment rate rose 0.3 percentage points to 7.2% as more people searched for work.
Dampened by the decline in December, employment gains in 2013 amounted to 102,000 or 0.6%.
Employment growth averaged 8,500 per month in 2013, compared with 25,900 in 2012.
=============================================================================
Folks we need a new Economic Plan. The one advertised with our tax dollars by Harper and his Cabinet is obviously not working.

You're correct that we damage the planet on a daily basis, but if we took the time to avoid that by developing non-fossil fuel vehicles on a mass scale and we developed other ways to create power on a mass scale, then just those two areas alone would help the planet while creating a massive amount of long term jobs. Instead we allow big corporations and the politicians who have sold us out to continue to control our lives so they, can get every penny out of us.
But there are so many other areas that need correcting such as, the wasteful packaging of products, the use of herbicides on crops and hormones etc inflicted on animals and governments who will have the courage to not to do business with countries that are creating increasing pollution .........and the list of changes could go on and on and on.

Jeepers Nan, Sask may have to bring in migrant workers. Are Canadians not qualified or do they just don't want those jobs? Lots of immigrants but most settle in Toronto or Motreal where there already is high unemployment.

Sad to say they are bringing in workers. Seems Canadians like to sit back and whine rather than go where the jobs are.

Canadians have a sense of entitlement.
Many believe they are entitled to everything (and in some cases more ) everyone else has without working for it. Some are second and third welfare families who know every loophole in the system to get more money for doing nothing.

Do you really believe that? I mean could there be other reasons these jobs aren't filled?
- Many people don't want to move to a location they may not like.
- People often don't want to leave family behind, especially elderly family.
- Quite a lot of those jobs are for "managers" and maybe there just aren't enough people in a specific line of work available for those specific managerial positions.
- I don't know what the cost of living is like in Sask but I do know several people who went to Alberta to make their fortune, only to find that the cost of living is so high they really weren't making the money unless they lived in a trailer (which is what one fellow I know does).
- Sask Job....is this a head hunter/ temp service? The reason I ask is many of these businesses will advertise jobs that do not as yet exist, so they have files full of applications available if an employer calls (which makes them look very efficient). This doesn't give a true representation of actual jobs that are vacant and ready to be immediately filled.

Appropriately describes NU, the Occupy Canada movement.
