So my question is simply: do you show your PS logo or not and why? Do you find a difference on or off?

Lately, I've been wondering if buyers truly understand the PowerSeller icon. What are the buyers' perceptions of PowerSellers?
eBay has always marketed the PowerSeller program to sellers, encouraging sellers to enroll. If we start marketing and explaining PowerSellers to buyers, what key messages do you want to convey? Some of my thoughts are:
1. PowerSellers are experienced sellers and can provide good consistent service.
2. PowerSellers adhere to marketplace policies and can be trusted.
Would love to hear your thoughts on how we market PowerSellers to buyers. Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
::laird

I for one have just dropped the PS logo. I do appreciate the benefits of being a PS (CP discount and this board), however my perception of Powersellers is usually skewed by those large liqudators who sell everything "as is" with a feedback rating of just over 98%. They proudly display their PS logo. They deal in volume and not in customer service.
If you want to market powersellers as those that can be trusted and provide consistent service, how do you plan to deal with those sellers that I have referred to.
As a buyer the PS logo has little if no impact on me. Feedback is the main factor in deciding who I buy from.

I have always had customers say to me that they bought from me because of my great feedback, quick emails responses and great prices. Never once have I had a customer tell me that the reason they made their purchase is because I am a PowerSeller. Though I can see this icon being valuable to TA's looking to recruit new clients as it would represent a level of success to the prospective clients
However I am not a TA and now that things are beginning to slow do a bit before the Xmas massacre, I think I will turn my PS icon off temporarily and see what happens.
Either way I can not see it affecting my business in anyways.
Only question is, how do I turn it off? LOL

1. Beleive they will get no customer service due to high volume sales and no time to answer questions regarding their items.
2. When asked questions via e-mail do not get a response.
3. Look at a Powerseller with a huge amount of feedback 100,000 + and see about 200 negs a month, they don't think they would get their item.
By removing my logo, buyers do not think I am a Powerseller that will not do any of the above. They believe they will get great customer service from. I know alot of buyers from reading the other forums will not buy from someone displaying the logo.

I never would have been able to find that! I didn't bother to make a note of where it was thinking I would never need to turn it off.
hmmmm...it seems everytime i submit that I no longer want the logo, I just get a blank page.
I suppose it will just go away with time...maybe by the time I wake up tomorrow I will be PS Icon free!

Maybe this is just a coincidence and things are correcting themselves after a slow couple of weeks.
Just thought I'd go ahead and post this observation...

I used to buy from PowerSellers sometimes, but sometimes I felt like they must be too busy to provide good service. So I may try taking mine down (I may lose it anyway).
I think you should need 98.5% (or more) to be a PowerSeller. Even when I got a lot of negs at one point from a nasty competitor using fake accounts, I was still above that. There are powersellers who have appalling feedback and are actually more like 97.7%, they just get favourable rounding or something. You can screw 1/4 of your buyers and still end up with 98% if you withhold leaving feedback until your buyer does, and then mutually withdraw if they leave a neg. It's pretty lame.

The more I think about it though the more useless I see the logo as...It does symbolize great feedback and an above average sales volume, but most buyers check the feedback first anyways and that clearly plays the largest role in whether or not they should make the purchase.
I also agree it tells the potential customers that you have a larger than normal sales volume and may not have time to treat them as an individual customer and not just as another paycheque...I have also noticed an increase in customer inquiries since the sign went down producing more sales, especially locally.
