WARNING - NEWEST TL UPDATE IGNORES RETURN POLICY SETTINGS

Well I was almost jumping for joy thinking I was going to have a productive morning with the 30 DAY FIXED PRICE listings now available for Turbo Lister but then I discovered that the new update ignores your return policy settings (even for listings you created prior to today). So if you are uploading new listings you will have to revise your return policy. It's set at accepting returns within 7 days with buyer paying for return shipping and no detailed instructions from seller are present.

I'm taking an Advil and going back to bed.

May I also clarify that you have to fix them after they are uploaded.

Return Policy requirement doesn't kick in until "late October".

WARNING - NEWEST TL UPDATE IGNORES RETURN POLICY SETTINGS

Yes but many of us are already revising our listings to comply with all the other changes. It has taken me almost 3 weeks to get my 400 plus listings revised. October is the beginning of peak period for me and not the time to make revisions.

Regardless, Turbo Lister listings are defaulting to a policy that Accepts Returns within 7 days with no special instructions from the seller, so unless that's your exact return policy, you have to go in and make revisions after uploading.

Hopefully they will get this fixed soon. Listings take 5 times longer to do because of this problem.

WARNING - NEWEST TL UPDATE IGNORES RETURN POLICY SETTINGS

eBay got back to me this morning on this issue, with no acknowledgment of a known problem. After following all their instructions I was redirected to Live Help. Live help made me try and few things and then finally told me to back-up my files, uninstall and then re-install. POOF! 3 years worth of saved listings are now gone because I cannot restore my database! Hubby spent at least 2 hours trying to work it out with live help and then another 2 hours on his own. 3 YEARS WORTH OF WORK GONE!

Then someone at eBay gets back to me to acknowledge that there was a return issue with TL which has now been resolved and to go back in and update...for all the good that will do...there are no listings to update anymore!

craftycatsattic,

I'm so sorry to hear what has happened to your work. No one likes loosing their data.

Consider using a program like Blackthorne because then your work is saved on your harddrive FOREVER if you like. You can also back it up on an external harddrive as well.

I know that it costs...but the security is well worth it. And, like Colleen, you'll find that once you use it...you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

It's rough going for many right now, but I know that you'll overcome!

We are all here to support you!

WARNING - NEWEST TL UPDATE IGNORES RETURN POLICY SETTINGS

Hi Susan. Thanks so much. I'm going to start changing my back-up names so that I have multiple back-up files to fall back on should another one become corrupt. My back-up was there but turbo lister simply would not recognize it.

You want to know something funny though? My husband, who is a computer tech and knows his way around computers spent 2 hours trouble shooting with eBay Live trying to solve the problem. In between all the dead lags with the live rep, we did some surfing and found that there's an eBay user who seems to know a lot about TL. I emailed him directly and he told me straight out that I had a slim chance of recovering my data but to give something a try first. I followed all his instructions and recovered my data. I am so relieved!

Funny though how a stranger who runs a free turbo lister support site can solve a problem within minutes when eBay's own TL support cannot???

Hi craftycatsattic,

GREAT NEWS! I'm so glad that you have your data back! Now you can put the Advil away and get back to listing, listing and listing some more!

It is amazing that the techs do not have what it takes at eBay to work with their customers (YOU, me and all of the other sellers!. Thankfully you have found the support you need elsewhere and I'm sure it will serve you well.

I feel quite confident with Blackthorne techs. There have been days that I've gotten quite angry with the program...but zipping a note off to the discussion and/or beta list ALWAYS proves to be helpful. BT has their act together! That doesn't mean that everything is always perfect....but they strive to help and do a great job!

Have a great week!
