Ok, So i bought an item on march 12,2017, the seller thanked me and communication was very easy, two days later the item i purchased was no longer on his list of items for sale, i disregarded it cause maybe he ran out of stock... This week I wanted to see if there was an update and sent the seller a message, we had agredd through our messages that he would make sure i receive it for the 2nd of april,2017. I then realized the seller has NO MORE ITEMS FOR SALE AT ALL!!!! Now i'm worried and freaking out... did i just get scammed? I sent mulitple messages since tuesday march 20, 2017.

PLEASE HELP.

Do you have a tracking number?

Where is the seller located?

What does feedback for the seller show?

Nothing for sale -- the seller could be on "vacation" with no items available. Where "vacation" covers everything from vacation to hospitalization to family crisis. If the seller disappears completely then you worry and file INR and get you money back.

If it's really time critical, then it's time to make a Plan B.

Ebay has Item-Not-Received (INR) protection for 30 days from last estimated day of delivery.

If you paid via paypal you have Item-Not-Received (INR) protection for the 180 days (6 months) from time of purchase.

No I do not have a tracking number, I messaged him to ask for it.
Seller is located in China
feedback is good! 1 negative comment about not receiving an item... but 97.3%

plan b? like buy with another buyer? 😞

If it is the seller who left you feedback they are down to 96.1% feedback now. On a school exam that is considered good but on ebay it isn't. I would not count on getting a Wedding Dress from China in time. I would make alternative arangements.

Untracked shipments from China can take 2-4 months to arrive,

If you need something for April 2 you will need to buy elsewhere. With April 2 as a deadline, China is not a good choice -- even online from Canada/USA is time tight with only 6 business shipping days left in the month.

If it is a wedding dress from China, you probably made a very poor purchase.

Normally things that do not need to be worried about:

Items that are no longer listed for sale.
Sellers with active accounts with no items for sale.
Tracking numbers that are active on China Post or Canada Post websites.

Things that should be worried about:

Sellers who stop communicating.
Sellers whose accounts are marked Not A Registered User (NARU)
Tracking numbers that do not work
High Value items supposedly sent that do not have tracking numbers.
A surge of negative feedback.

Go to your Paypal account.

Find and copy the transaction number.

Go to the PP Resolution Centre which is under Tools at the top of your PP account Page.

Open an Item Not Received Dispute.

You can skip the suggestion that you contact the seller. You have already done that.

Escalate to a Claim.

If the seller cannot prove Delivery (not shipping, delivery) you will be refunded.

If by some chance the dress arrives after the refund, you can return it using PP's Send Money service.

Buy locally. Or at least on eBay Canada from a Canadian shipper. (Try rose-dee for fabulous patterns if you know a seamstress.)

And try to make a really funny story about this for your fiftieth wedding anniversary party. The grandchildren will love it.

Sellers aren't required to reply immediately. It may take 48 to 72 hours to get back to you depending on the availability of the seller and the number of customers he or she may have. Multiple messages won't get yours answered any faster.

What is it that you bought? How much did you spend? Has it been shipped? What is the significance of April 2?

If you need a veil for April 2, and I'm assuming you do, you are absolutely going to need a strong Plan B.

Do you have a tracking number for this? Does it say it's been shipped? What is the actual Estimated Delivery Date on your Order Details?

While a dressmaker closing shop temporarily to fulfill orders does not concern me, shipping delays do. What postal service did you chose when paying if this is coming from China?

no tracking number, doesn't say it shippped either... also i paid with a credit card and not paypal, ebay had both choices and i am new to ebay so i used my credit card since it was faster.. will i get refunded if it doesnt arrive?

No, you can go directly to the credit card right away.

Just as you can go to Paypal with a Dispute for 180 days after payment.

For the credit card, the 1-800 number on the back of the card will give you customer service. Have all your paperwork handy to help the clerk process your chargeback. Transaction numbers, dates, currency.

Actually, thinking about currency, with the loonie dropping the way it is, you may even make a few pennies on this.
