WOW - 0 Cent Listing Day, August 15th

And most of my sales came from my store during the time that the special rate auctions were ending. Most of the auctions went unsold but maybe they brought the people into the store.

I jumped the gun on that one as those listings are ending today. But it looks like I made an accurate prediction so far.

tea_past_times: Can you explain what you did to reduce your ebay fees?? My fees are running about $800/month.

Thanks

I don't know what he did to reduce his fees but you'd better get that link to your other site out of your listings. That's an eBay violation. Get rid of it. Someone will see it, report it and get your listings pulled.

Regarding lowering of fees: Keep all your listings in scheduled listings. When they give you a promo for 10 cent or 20 cent listing day, go into your scheduled listings and change them to list immediately, then shortly you have 200-300 listings you made previously on at once. Skip the gallery feature.

300 listings with gallery full price = $285.00
300 listings with no gallery 10 cent promo = $30.00

Savings of $250

Some months they have 2 promos( 1 on ebay ca 1 on ebay.com.

2 Promos = Savings of $500.00

It's true I sell less, due to lack of gallery. BUT I don't need to sell as much when I have $500.00 less fees to pay, now do I??

Hope that helped.

Thanks Tea,

I've started removing the gallery from my listings. But then, they had this promotion that made it cheaper to have the gallery on the auctions so I added them all back in. Now when I re-list again, I have to remove them.

Another question...When I list an item and it doesn't sell, I can re-list it and I get my listing fee back. If it doesn't sell the second time it defaults to "Sell Similiar". If I choose to "relist" again and then it doesn't sell and I re-list it a FOURTH time, do I get my third re-listing fee back if it sells. (I know, it is a little confusing)

Thanks again

Nope.

List once, item doesn't sell.

Relist item. Still doesn't sell.

List again starting fresh. If that doesn't sell relist but if that relist doesn't sell make a new listing again.

Don't hit the relist or sell similar buttons. They've long ago taken away the perpetual relist thing to confuse you on the relist credits. You now have to keep much better track of listed and relisted items.

I think it's all a matter of pespective. For me the promo was great because I start almost all my items at $4.95 with the gallery and it gave me an opportunity to take some of my store items out and auction them. Some didn't sell, some I sold for less and some I sold for well over my store price. PLUS I saved about half the final value fees for listing in core vs store. Those of you that have bigger ticket items, pay a lot less than I do percentage-wise for your items so please don't lose sight of that. That promo was a nice break for those of us that bust our behinds selling low price point items.
