What are the ramifications from purchasing from outside Canada, China or Australia?

I found some pieces of jewelry from China and Australia and some beautiful clothes from the States, what are the negatives?  HELP!  Please help a fellow EBAYER!  Don't hold back.  Thank You.

The Chinese pieces will be plated with coloured glass stones. Fine if you are happy with dime store jewelry.

The Australian pieces will be from China.

You get what you pay for.

Search using Highest Price and Shipping first to see the better quality stuff before the junk.

For clothing , measure yourself.

Only buy if the seller has measurements in the listing. Small Medium Sz 8 XXL are meaningless and vary with price point.

Most clothing is not actually made in the USA and therefore is subject to duty.

Even if used items are not subject to duty, all imports over $20 CDN are subject to sales tax.

$20CDN is about $16USD.

Do not buy if the item sells for $50 USD or less AND the seller uses the Global Shipping Program.
