Value Added Tax.
The GST is a value added tax. Basically each time a product or service changes hands, the revenooers consider that it has been raised in value and tax it again.
The term is usually seen on British listings. I am not sure if British VAT is charged when the item is being exported. Certainly GST is not and sellers who normally would collect it instead get a rebate from Revenue Canada. For better information consult your tax accountant.
