What is your late shipment rate?

I am just wondering if I am the only one having issues with this ridiculous measurement.   At this rate, I'll be kicked off for sure or at least lose my TRS.  Perfect feedback, no defects, 5 stars, but rating me on the postal system delivery/delays is just plain wrong.  I want to know if anyone else feels this way and they have some late shipment transactions.

My is 3.19% -- 3 of 94 transactions.

What is your late shipment rate?

Since Sept 12, late shipment rate: 0 for all 4 zones (USA / UK / Germany / Global)

I use Canada Post with mostly O/S lettermail plus some light packet, small packet and expedited parcel.

I feel for you. Sellers with a low transaction count, really can't afford any lates as it will really skew their percentage.

Of course, Ebay knew this was going to happen. That is why they did it and gave a very small percentage allowance. Small sellers will pay the price for things totally beyond their control

What is your late shipment rate?

Thanks, I sold 272 CD's during that time period but I would say that only a small percentage 30 - 40% leave feedback.

The late shipments were:

1.  Buyer in Sept who is also a seller bought a CD from me.  He listed it for sale and then a couple of days later stated it was late shipment for me.  Do I have proof, NO.  It is too late now. I did call on this but it was useless to talk to CS.

2.  Buyer purchased a CD in Nov from me US address.  I ship out the CD and it turns out he works in Kazakhstan in the US embassy and the mail was being forwarded to him.  He gave me great feedback, shipping was fast all the way to Kazakhstan.  When it asks did you get the CD by the date (for the US) he stated no.  I called CS on this one too and they said they could do nothing about it.

3.  Buyer from a small town in Australia purchased a CD from me just before Christmas.  Again, gave great feedback 5 stars all the way but answers No did you get the CD by this date.  I checked the Australian postal service and it is 4 working days to get it from Melbourne to this small town.

I am at a loss as to what to do.  Customer service is useless.  I have had to explain myself to several people and spent hours on the phone.  When I called in Sept, they didn't even know what I was talking about.

Ebays estimated delivery dates are totally out of wack with reality.

Zero as a seller.

One as a buyer, poly envelopes from a seller I have used again, and just ordered from them again today.

I did NOT mark it as late, even though it was more than 30 days from order to arrival from the USA.

You have to wonder why eBay continues to come with seller ratings which are so full of holes.  These things really stress sellers out and make business much more difficult.

I mean really............

If eBay insists on this type of rating system for handling/transit time, they could just provide generous realistic estimates and solve the problem from both ends (buyer and seller).

Antsy Impatient buyers would be satisfied because they'd see that what they experienced as too long to wait for an item was actually very reasonable.

Once the item is in one's in hands, the stress of waiting dissipates.

Sellers wouldn't be so stressed by an unfair system.

Buyers would  be relieved to see that their item was actually on time.

It's not rocket science.

Your numbers are much better than mine. I got 4 out of 32, a whooping 12.5%. I will see what happens to my account soon.

But didn't Raphael on chat say no one was in jeopardy of losing their TRS under the new defects. I guess he had better dig a little deeper.

It is just another underhanded way Ebay shafts their sellers.

What is your late shipment rate?

There are a few factors at play.

One is the faulty measurement. https://community.ebay.ca/t5/Seller-Updates/2015-Fall-Seller-Update/m-p/324824#M1061

Another is that they forgot to eliminate New Year's Day from the business day count. https://community.ebay.ca/t5/Seller-Central/Anyone-else-notice-that-New-Year-s-Day-wasn-t-factored-a...

And, most importantly, there was the month-long mea culpa from Canada Post between mid-December and mid-January. Remember? https://community.ebay.ca/t5/Seller-Central/Canada-Post-Mail-Delays/m-p/321316#M52997

What is your late shipment rate?

I have 3 of 603 late.  = 0.50%  This doesn't worry me yet.  What ticks me off is that I just lost my top rated global seller status today for 1 transaction that did not get delivered.  I have tracking to prove it and I already gave the buyer a refund.  The transaction consisted of 28 items so I got 28 defects which took me up to 2.4% defect rate.   Shouldn't there be only 1 defect for this transaction...it was paid for in 1 payment combined.

If I were you, I'd call to ask if those 28 are removable. What reason does tracking show that it was not delivered?

What is your late shipment rate?

Tracking does not give a reason why it was not delivered. Tracking stopped shortly after shipment. I have put in a claim to Canada Post already and they "tell me" that they will inform me when the situation changes. If no resolution by April....I will get my money back.

My seller dashboard clearly says "The transaction defect rate is the percentage of your total transactions that had any 1 of 7 defects. Note that these defects often measure how satisfied your buyers were with a transaction. We don't count more than 1 defect per transaction"
so I will contact them.

Was it traveling through Ontario mid-December? There was a tractor-trailer crash involving a CPC truck that spilled mail across the 401.

What distribution center does that normally hit for you? Montreal? From the Prairies, all mine go through Mississauga.

What is your late shipment rate?

It is probably the same....I am from the prairies too.  I'm not worried about the loss....just the extra 27 defects.  I'm on the line with CS now...actually I'm on hold...but trying.  There should be no defect at all unless the item doesn't arrive AND seller doesn't rectify.

I think if you shipped with tracking, and the postal corporation failed, you'd be covered.

But search Community or google for the details on that crash. It might be your parcel.

If your shipment had the initial scan within your stated handling time then they should be removing those defects. The purpose of having the initial scan within stated handling time be a metric was to avoid situations beyond the seller's control with respect to shipping.

If they haven't accounted for a situation where the package does not have a final delivery confirmation scan then this a huge glaring omission. A decent percentage of packages sent with tracking/delivery confirmation under the post expres program (tracked packet and usps edelcon) will not receive a final scan as cariers will miss scans and there are still areas of participating countries where scanners have not been deployed with all carriers. USPS has issued advisories on this in the past. Let us know how it works out for you.
