I have been with e-bay for over 3 years and now they do not want me keep my pawlus@mindspring.com id name anymore. I wanted to merge the account with my new account (gocanam) and no support from e-bay. So I made up a backup name GOCANAM2. What's the big deal with .com names? Stealing my ID? Spam? or WHAT?

As I understand it, it's a privacy issue -- there've been so many hi-jacked identities lately that I believe they hope this will make it a little harder for the thieves. Time will tell if they're correct about that!
