Keep telling yourself that these magical machines have no footprint. Keep telling yourself that there is not impact to the land when they pour concrete and steel to create the base, keep telling yourself that they are self lubricating, keep telling yourself that running access roads through farm land has no environmental impact. Clean indeed.

I hope these same farmers do not want money to take them down when they are broken and run down.This whole wind thing is taking up thousands of acres of prime farm land. Something the greenies would never allow for any other industry.

If the Liberals feel it does not disturb anyone, causes no harm and it is a great idea put one near Wynne's home, One next to Deb Mathews home, One near Mcguinty home they can prove in couple years to all of us how good it is. Put their health where they mouth is.

More clean energy eh! All the while, we have to accept this energy on days we don't require it and curtail the flow of real clean energy at Niagara falls by restricting flow of water over the turbines. Wake up will yea.

Maybe clean but NOT FREE Doobie you and you kids and their kids will be paying for this scandal for many years, Too bad you are not informed enough to realize the return on investment will make the turbine company richer and you poorer, save your money because your smart meters are smarter than you

how in th e world do you claim this as "clean" energy. If any other project consumed this much land to produce so little, unreliable energy, all of the greenies would be up in arms, Just ask some of the folks around Mitchell's Bay what happened to their well water when they started to drive the piles into the bed rock, something that has been kept quiet.

Excellent news! Declining property values, rising electricity rates, more dead birds and bats. Don't whine that it's clean energy, we all know it isn't.

Valve - your post read "Those oil sands as well as providing thousands of high paying jobs fuel the Federal and Provincial coffers through royalties so that you and I can enjoy a better standard of living. "

How do deferred taxes (that may or may not be paid) improve your standard of living?

How much "deferred taxes" did Nortel (used to be owned 100% by Bell) have on their books when they went bankrupt?  How did those "deferred taxes" improve your standard of living?  These never paid "deferred taxes" never did anything for me.

Employment:

Canada = 17.8

Alberta = 2.2

Ontario = 6.9

I guess this kid thinks the tar sands is magically providing Ontarians and the rest of Canadians jobs. LMAO.

How does it exactly work in this epic fantasy story you have created?. Tar sands fly and get manufactured in Ontario?. Does it go fishing in Nova Scotia?. Last time I checked, much of the oil that we are extracting are going to the US and world market.

Re: Wind Turbines a scourge on Ontario

Benefits of the oil sands to Canadians Oil sands currently affects the jobs of 112,000 people across Canada outside the province of Alberta and this is expected to grow to over 500,000 jobs over the next 25 years.. Oil sands investment indirectly affects six broad sectors. In order of size, they include professional services, oilfield services, manufacturing, wholesale trade, financial services, and transportation. The company I work for here in London produces air ride suspension systems for large 12 - 22k axle trucks. We ship these systems by the pallet load to Edmonton for trucks working in the oil sands.

Re: Wind Turbines a scourge on Ontario

If you are going to make a statement saying those jobs provide "royalties so that you and I can enjoy a better standard of living".
You better come in with more than 112k jobs across Canada and your company selling parts for trucks. That is actually quite laughable. LOL.

" The company I work for here in London "

Now I am confused.  What happened to your retirement plans?  With the money coming from the Bell pension and dividends from your BCE shares and your Old Age Pension and CPP why would you want to have a paying job?,

Re: Wind Turbines a scourge on Ontario

What a bunch of bunk!!!! Air travel kills more birds in a single day than all the wind turbines on the continent. When the right wing press decide they don't like something they CREATE issues that are not substantiated with fact. How much wild life and land has been DESTROYED by carbon industry business and how much money has been spent to clean up the damages occurred? We need the carbon industry at present, but once the viable energy sources become common place the planet will be better off and the costs will fall. Everyone forgets how much the carbon industries were subsidized when they were starting and how much government assistance was granted to keep them viable. They also do not face the fact that much of those subsidies and land grants not to mention tax incentives are still here today. What the carbon industry has received from government in it's history could probably erase the global national debt and still support clean energy programs.
