Hi
Someone has bid on an item on my page and changed their mind. They have emailed me and asked me to retract the bid. Legally can I do it and also how would I do it please
Thanks

http://offer.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?RetractBidShow
The customer can get the above form, fill, retract bid, does not need your consent if it is more than 12 hours left on the auction..

Yes.
And a good thing too. You really don't want customers who don't want to pay you for an item they don't want.
Retracting a bid puts a note on the bidder's feedback page.
A seller cancelling a bid doesn't.
Many sellers will put a bidder who requests a cancellation on their Blocked Bidder List to prevent future annoyances.

To see how many bid retractions a buyer has, click on Feedback as a Buyer in the buyer's feedback profile. It should be on the right side.
You won't be able to see how many nonpayment strikes a buyer has, but you can set your buyer requirements to block buyers with a minimum of 2 nonpayment strikes.
