Re:can my customer pay with visa?

Only if you have a merchant account and only big time sellers have them.

If he doesn't have a paypal account

He should be able to make a payment through paypal with it as long as it isn't a prepaid card.

If he has a paypal account he can add his Visa to it but it takes a few days to complete the set up.

You start with your account manager in the commercial section of the bank. Then you decide which cc management company you prefer. (We went with Moneris but there are others.)

The you decide which kind of machine you want to rent to process cards. If you do trade shows the wireless ones are great. But the "landline"ones are a bit cheaper. You're still looking at about $50 a month rental.

Then you wait until Moneris looks into your financial background and decides if you are worthy.

This can take a couple of weeks, depending on your credit rating, but nowadays they do allow new businesses to have merchant accounts, so it's just a matter of time.

Expect to pay between 2% and 6% of each payment for the use of a merchant account, depending on the average transaction size and the number you have monthly.

Or you could open a Paypal account and have all your customers pay through that.
