eBay Keywords for eBay Canada

At the start of August this year, eBay Keywords was launched on eBay.CA. You might be asking -- what is eBay Keywords?

eBay Keywords is a tool that allows sellers like yourselves to create your own online ads on eBay.ca by targeting those ads to keyword searches done on eBay

How does it work? Simply, you can buy eBay keywords like ‘diamond ring’, ‘computer’ or ‘golf club’. When a buyer searches for ‘diamond’ on eBay.ca , your online banner ad shows up above the listings. The buyer clicks on your banner and the buyer is immediately linked to the your Store, listing or Items page

This is a very effective tool for driving buyers to your eBay Store or listings. It will increase the bidding activity and your final sale price. Q: Where can I try it out?

A: Go to www.ebaykeywords.com and give it a try. This is our all in one tool where you can create keyword advertising campaigns that can run on either the US or Canadian eBay sites.

Q: How does it work?

A: It is very simple. You go to www.ebaykeywords.com and click on the link that is for new users. Then you go through a very simple process that takes just about 25 minutes. It involves creating an ad, selecting your words, determining how much you want to pay and registering.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: You only pay for when someone clicks on your banner. When you are setting up your campaign – you determine how much you want to pay per click and that is how much you will pay whenever someone clicks on your banner.

Q: What if my banner gets hundreds of clicks…won’t that be expensive?

A: The very 1st thing you do when you set up a campaign is put a cap on what you are willing to spend over all. You will not pay any more than that amount ($50 for example). It’s very much like a pre-paid phone card.

Q: How do I pay for this?

A: You can pay for it with PayPal. In several weeks you will be able to use a credit card as a payment option as well. This is separate from your other eBay fees and is charged when you set up a campaign.

Q: What kind of words should I target?

A: You should target words that are specific to what you sell on eBay. You should also try to target two or three word phrases versus single words. For example: it’s better to target the phrase ‘diamond engagement ring’ rather than just ‘ring’.

A: Thousands of sellers use it on eBay.com and many of them report increases in sales and bids.

eBay Keywords is similar to Google's adWords in that you can create keyword targeted campaigns however, the main difference is that eBay Keywords is for eBay Sellers only and only links to eBay Stores and listings.
