Hi nudist_ian,

Only bids placed on Private Listings are made private. This depends on Sellers who'd rather use this format for their listings. Currently though, there is a sense of anonymity with the way bidders are listed on non-private listings, as only the first & last characters are shown to other members. Sellers of course are able to see the full buyer IDs.
