I bid on an item and won it to realise that it was the wrong item. How do I retract my bid?

Hi baby.c .. Buyers cannot cancel a won item. Contact seller , explain and ask would they please file a mutual cancellation and you will accept when ebay asks. Allows seller to recover fees.

Seller does not have to cancel but most will rather than have an unhappy buyer.

You don't need permission, but there are only a few reasons that are allowed for you to retract your own bid.

You have 2 Buy It Now/Best Offer items that are identical. Are you trying to get out of paying for the higher priced one?

You cannot retract a purchased item. Only the seller let you out of the transaction by sending you a transaction cancellation in which you will have to indicate that you agree to it. If the seller doesn't send a transaction cancellation, you would be expected to pay for the item or get an unpaid item dispute.
