Yes, you do a bid retraction. The following link explains about how to do it, what are the valid reasons for retraction, and there is a Bid Retraction form near the bottom you can use:
http://pages.ebay.ca/help/buy/questions/retract-bid.html
Just so you know, - retractions are displayed on your feedback page, and too many will have you in a stew with ebay. And your retraction is displayed at the bottom of the listing's bid history, too. Doing it is considered very poor form.
Much better to place interesting items in your Watch List, where you can freely ogle them without every having to make a committment.

You can also ask your seller to cancel your bid. On the plus side, you are free of the transaction and there is no note on your FB page.
On the negative side, the seller will probably Block you from ever bidding with him again.
