listing with auctiva

Hello Everyone
I am on a 30 day free trial listing with Auctiva. As you all know if you list from the Ebay.CA site in US dollars your items show up on the US site as well.Using Auctiva lister I must list directly from Ebay.Com if I want to have my listings on the US site and in US dollars. My question is`: Do you think that makes any difference.ie not being able to list from Ebay.ca. 50% of my sales are to the US and the other 50% within Canada.I just can`t get my head around this one.I appreciate your time and opinion.

Re: listing with auctiva

Opinions vary, and it seems that there's no rhyme or reason to what works for what product.

Try a few listings on .ca and see if they do better, that's all I can suggest.

If you use the US turbolister, you can import the US listing, with the auctiva templates, edit the information and change the selling site to .ca and then re-list on .ca. -------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: listing with auctiva

Lucas,
I list on .ca in U.S.$ through Auctiva so you should be able to do the same. When signed into Auctiva click on My Account at the top of the page and then under Settings, click on My Preferences.
You should be able to put Canada as a default ebay listing site & U.S.$ as the default currency.

I've been thinking about moving my listings to .com. Unlike you though, I only sell a small percentage of items within Canada but have always been content with.ca. For the last 2 months I have taken advantage of the 5 free listings on .ca and .com & it seems like the majority of my items on .com sold in the first week but the same wasn't true of the free listings on the .ca site. It could be a coincidence...or not...I'm still figuring that out.

But as Dude said, there are many different opinions on which site works the best.

Re: listing with auctiva

Lucas,
I also list on .ca in U.S.$ through Auctiva and the listings show up on both .ca and .com, so as PJ says, you should be able to do the same.
Personally, I see no significant difference on which site will work better than the other, and as my sales are satisfactory to both Can & USA, I cant complain! 🙂

Cheers,

Re: listing with auctiva

We have always listed on the CA site (in USD) and have been using Auctiva for years.

It makes absolutely no difference whether you list on the CA or US site as your listings receive equal exposure either way, as long as you don't list "ship to Canada only".

Less than 3% of our sales are within Canada, yet we still list on CA.

The only differences (negligible) are policy changes that were implemented at differing times and "specials" that are launched for either US or CA only, although I believe that we Canadians have received more benefits in this respect than our colleagues south of the border.

Also, in our case, there are a few more reasons why listing on CA makes more sense.

Thank you for all the great and helpful responses. It was the Auctiva staff that informed me I couldnt list from the .CA site in US dollars.
I knew I should have come here first.
