quick question about shiping

For all the people who are use to selling items i'm just wondering. Canada post has a great rate with letter mail at 3.33$ Delivery confirmation is insanely expensive with Canadian postal service at 9$ which comes with delivery confirmation and signature and all the other goodies which i don't want but am forced to have.I've seen stories were people say you need registered mail which is the 9$ extra fee or you could get scammed and people could say they never got the item even tho they did.i'm wondering if i'm selling average of 10-50$ games of you guyes suggest registered mail I am very confused.

Ups is absolutely insane when it comes to shipping 40$ games in the standard bubble wrap dvd/game packages they came out to 27$ and i sold the **bleep** game for 22$ but confirmation only costs 3$ with them i can't see why it costs anything with that price..

Please let me know if you are confused by something I've written in the question all i want is clarification and guidance and most people in the e-bay sellers section are very helpful from past experiences. My main question without all hte bliber blabber is do i need to pay the 9$ fee or could i just send it as a letter through the post office and not get people saying they did not receive it. Mind you this is all in the standard bubble wrap packages that are used to sell video games/movies.

   Thanks in advance ,

     Brad

NO. Registered mail is a total waste of money for your low priced games. PayPal does not recognized CP Registered Mail in case of dispute.
Ship regular lettermail if under 20mm think and assume some risks.

quick question about shiping

I had three (3) INR in the last 2-3 years. Each was fake. So what, it is within my loss budget. That is 3 out of, I don't know, say, 1800 sales.

Tracking is not needed nor required, up front. Tracking is only required in the event of a dispute. The three that "went away" were to countries where tracking was not an option. So, it was ship or not have the sale.

Take 50¢ or $1 out of each sale and put it in your insurance fund jar. You will have to take money out regularly, and stick I in your pocket, as the jar fills rapidly.

quick question about shiping

Mr E, you in Manitoba yet, or still enjoying your road trip? I'm ready for a road trip, but have to wait until Sept or Oct.  On the INR front, I'm running into a streak of shipments to the US being returned as deliverable for one reason or another. In a couple of cases I was able to resend and the second time there was no problem. One person, whose envelope I got back today, caused me a lot of grief and a defect. BBL. As far as countries people as concerned about shipping to, I'm doing okay. A couple of problems to Russian Fed. but a dozen or so got through okay, including one I was really concerned about. And so far okay on about a dozen orders to Brazil. BUT, I'm waiting to hear about a $150 order I shipped there last week. I wasn't prepared for that kind of an order to Brazil. The customer is fine. I've dealt with him before and have no concerns. The Brazilian postal system?  Meh.... Time will tell. My jar may take a hit. BTW, I only take 25 cents/shipment and find that very comfortable (at least so far) Al

quick question about shiping

Photos, I am in Dauphin MB now.

I came out of Belleville and headed down to Wheatley ON to visit my buddy Bob. I had never met the man. Chatted with him for years. He sells the exact same thing  do, exactly. The most fantastic evening.

Made myself a reservation at Rymal's Motel in Leamington. A marvelous motel experience. Drove over to the Detroit crossing. Customs officer was hysterical as I am no threat and scanning my passport showed that:

Any guns? NO!

Any drugs? NO!

Mexicans? Mexicans? I had to load this truck myself, I don't have any Mexicans.

Guy about fell out of his booth laughing.

Drove down to Anderson Indiana to visit some friends I had met on another eBay board. I had met them last year and we were catching up. Took me out to a Republican fundraiser. Nicest people you ever want to meet. Live band, food, wine. My friend Jody was walking around with a beer in one hand and a chicken under her other arm. They had a delicious dessert treat, cake with hard icing, the size of a golf ball called "crack balls". Ward picked me up the next morning in his 1978(?) Lil Red Express truck. That thing is hysterical. Went to see the farmers market Jody runs on Saturday.

Headed out that morning for Sevierville TN, otherwise known as Pigeon Forge and Dollywood. Do not go there. It is a classic plastic, expensive, tourist trap. Busiest WalMart in the world. I went to visit another eBay buddy and his wife I had never met. Bruce and Teresa. Bruce is known as the snake charmer, rolled his garden tractor down a hill, ran the station wagon through the back of the garage, and backed a another station wagon up a power pole guidewire. He lives on top of a mountain that has a driveway very similar to Sleepy Hollow. He needed a particular, hard to find part, for his 1956 Buick wagon. Man is on disability and could not afford this critical part. Me and a couple of other eBay buddies got together and sent it to him, secretly. We made a grown man cry.

Came out of there and headed for Harrisonburg VA. Remember, I was heading towards Manitoba and I am now hard up against Washington DC. Went to meet another eBay buddy, Linford. He has sold 450 cars on eBay. He buys sells, and ships anywhere. Car dealer, service shop owner, ordained Mennone minister. Him, wife, and daughter took me out for dinner and we had a fabulous time. Harrisonburg is the turkey capital of North America.

Had to boogie towards MB to beat the moving truck. Driving through West Virginia they have toll booths on the only road. Like, huh? $2 to get and $2 to get off. Started going up, up, and away. I was up so high, I was in a cloud. I was so high, passenger planes were below me. Sherpas were waving to me. I couldn't see. Up and down through the Smokey Mtns was cool. You really see why they are called that. Just missed that massive storm that blew through the east.

Pedal to the metal and I hit Danville IL. I think it is 7:45. Clock in the room says 6:45.  go ask "What time zone am I in?". Front desk clerk says "Well, it depends where you stand.". Apparently, the line runs pretty much right through the hotel. I was gonna stop at Mystic Lake Casino in Shakopee, but, I did the math. To go there and see a show would cost me an extra $600 for two days. What?

To heck with that so I headed for Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen. It is a Wed, easy to get a room. Nope. Full. band conference. Heded towards the Thief River falls Casino and Hotel. Full. Band Conference. It is getting late and I do not see all that well at night.

Did I mention the cheap bottle of whiskey I bought in Danville. $14 and gack. So, I promised myself I would stop at the first place I saw in Thief River Falls Minnesota. That was a mistake. Walk up to the door and there were two guys standing there, no shirts, wife beater shorts, smoking beer, and drinking cigarettes. I think they belched at me. Check-in girl kinda reminded me of Alice Cooper.

I double checked the name of the place 'cause I wasn't sure. Was this the Bates Motel? Went to turn on a wall lamp and it fell off. Suddenly there was this screeching noise like someone was strangling a possum. It was the mini fridge. Unplugged that baby tout suite. Get up in the morning and the shower doesn't work. Darn handle came off the wall in my hand. Checked out breakfast and most of the folks reminded me of "This is my brother Darryl and this is my other brother Darryl". I decided that escape was my best option.

I go up #59 because the crossing at Tolstoi-Lancaster is a quiet place and I am always first. Emerson can be an hour wait if you time t well. Rolled into Dauphin about 4 yesterday. Phone rings this morning and the moving truck will be here Monday. I got lots of arranging to do.

I got to do things I wanted to do. I went to visit real friends. Some whom I had never met in person, yet, we are real friends. I now have standing offers of a room in Wheatley, Anderson, and Sevierville. I also have requests to visit New Orleans, Washington DC, Puyallup Washington state and Montreal. I accomplished a lot. I shed a lot of baggage.
