"Customizing" paypal payment options.

I would like to know if I can choose to fund with an instant transfer v.s. from my paypal balance. and vice versa. I would like to be able to pay smaller amounts from my paypal balance and larger amounts with instant transfer so I do not rack up transaction fees from my bank.

If you have money in your PayPal account, you cannot choose to take your bank account instead. PP will force you to use your money first. The only exception is if your PP funds are in canadian dollars and your purchase in US $, then you will have to option to go in your bank account.
