"Foreign Transaction Fee"

Hello, I have recently been given Powerseller Staus on eBay... yay!

I have a issue come up today that I have never experienced before.

I use Paypal Virtual Terminal to process credit cards off eBay and on eBay.com.

I have linked my paypal payments pro account and am able to process USA credit cards directly on ebay.com checkout (ebay.ca does not offer this service ATM).

Today I got a message from a USA customer that processed a credit card using the eBay checkout.

The customer recieved a "foreign transaction fee" of $xx.xx on his/her credit card bill.

I have my reasons for listing my products on both eBay.com and eBay.ca.

Canadian buyers get my products from Canada and Americans get my products shipped from within the USA.

Long winded... but why is my customer getting an EXTREMELY HIGH foreign transaction fee slapped on top of the charge on his/her card? Anyone experience this before? Am I doing it wrong?

Cheers, THX

Taylor

"Foreign Transaction Fee"

That is most likely a fee charged by your customer's card company because they had to deal with a 'foreign bank',  ie Paypal Canada.

Yes, I figure that is what it was. That is awful. No currency conversion was made and the item ship to and from within the USA. The only transaction that was made in Canada was me hitting the shipped button.
