I received a damaged item.
Seller was non respondant.
I opened a case with eBay and without asking for any information they decided I had no case.
"eBay Customer Support has reviewed the case and made a final decision. We've considered the case carefully and decided not to issue you a refund. We're sorry this didn't work out."
Is this a common practice for eBay?

Actually, no. If I were you, I'd try to call someone with ebay or paypal to lobby my case.

If you paid with your credit card you can file a dispute with them and they can initiate a charge back to PayPal.

There is a lot of information missing here.
How long ago was the item paid for? Was it in an eligible category? Was it an eligible payment method?
So much unsaid; the reason for the refusal nust have been pretty fundamental to get a blank turndown like that.
