Ebay stopped me from Bidding on a large value purchase because they want my Credit Card Info which they have never asked for in the past . Since they don't actually do the Financial Transaction , Paypal does that part I am not sure why i need to give them that in order to Identify myself how will that assist them. All it does is make my card vulnerable to their Phishers to steal

Hi samik43,
As long as you're entering it into a legitimate eBay page, the info is safe. If you need help, please contact Customer Support for clarification on this requirement, but please don't share your Credit Card info with anyone.
Thanks,

So Kalvin, are you looking forward to that big promotion to eBay Phisher in the New Year? Does it come with a dental plan?

Sorry if I've misunderstood this, but I do know that when eBay (legitimately) asks for Credit Card info, it's to further verify that member's identity. I'm not all too surprised with this, especially when you mention this was during an attempt to purchase a high value item. You'd want to confirm this with Customer Support just to make sure.

Kalvin, the site is not secure if I don't see "https" with a "s". If there is no "s" in http, the site is NOT secure.
For everyone, be aware, the site must have a "s" in https when you are dealing with $$$ or banking. If there is no "s", don't do it! Period!! Always, always watch for "s" in https all the time when dealing wtih $$$ or banking online.
