unable to leave feedback

My buyer has not paid for an item he won on June 25, 2013 despite several messages/invoices. Four days ago, I opened an "item not paid" case and have closed it as unpaid. The buyer is a new eBayer judging from the number of feedbacks he/she has received and while I like to encourage new members, failing to pay and ignoring all messages is not a good way to start. I'd like to leave feedback but find that I am unable to do so. I understand that my buyer is now unable to leave feedback for me but why can I not leave it for him?

When the unpaid process is completed, the transaction is basically null and void.  Non-existent.  So eBay decided feedback can't be exchanged on a non-transaction.

Glenda, thank you for your quick response! I guess I'm irritated by this "buyer's" blatant disregard of eBay rules - even a newbie knows the basics of how an auction works!

I have blocked him/her - take that!!!!!
