unauthorized transaction x 2

Well I had 2 unauthorized transactions lodged against me today.
They were from 1 transaction - dated July 31 for $6
And the other one August 11th for $45, and guess what from the same buyer, surprise, SURPRISE :0.

I was to respond to the $6 which I did, explaining that the item was mailed on August 1 and that the customer received it and left feedback Aug 11th, I clicked on the button of the bottom and the next message was case closed, money refunded. What the heck......I phoned paypal to ask what was going on.

The fellow explained that because I did not have a tracking number that the case closes AUTOMATICALLY.

I then asked about the other one, he said because I had a tracking # that I was covered under sellers protection, so paypal was going to pay the claim.

I said could you please explain that to me again, he said they were going pay the claim.......

I said... so this person who has had these items for 6 months and has been using them is going to get them FOR FREE, taking money from me and paypal illegally. I told the guy that pisses me off. If it was an unauthorized transaction why was my stuff never returned.

He said that I made several good points, and that on occasion they investigate claims like this even after they pay the claims....I forgot to mention that NO transactions can be done without a password..so how can it be unauthorized...

By the way, I got my $6 back as well as the $45..... I guess it pays to be aggressive...the agent said because I was a good customer that he felt it was right to reverse that charge as well.

I would hate to be that customer right at this moment because they are the ones that are going to be investigated for fraud....

Now I have to block this little angel 🙂 and I suggest that if any of you out there selling R/Cs do the same........

PAYPAL does stand behind us, I just didn't know how, and now I do........

I had the exact same happened to me. Two chargebacks for unauthorized transactions within 1 week. Not the same buyer though. The one I had a tracking # for has been reversed right away and I could keep my money. The other one was small packet and I was out the money.
I just politely asked them by email, what happened and how come buyers can keep their item and their money and they responded with a lenghty explenation of fraud investigations and so on.
Guess, I have to be a bit more aggressive the next time. 😉

I also had a good story from Paypal. I actually got my money back from a Paypal and CC chargeback and I did not have a tracking.

I had 8 charge backs this month 1 i won 7 i lost (letter mail) I know 2 of them were scams .

If it was an unauthorized transaction why was my stuff never returned.

Technically, if it was an unauthorized transaction, the contract of sale was fraudulent and there fore the sale never took place.

You sent those items as a gift.

I know it doesn't make sense, but that's how the law would look at it.

I had this happen to me twice. The first one was for $45.00 and it happened within 24 hours. Luckily I did not ship the item yet, just the label was printed. I know the person thought I already shipped. Now I try to make it a point to wait at least a day to ship my items because if someone is going to make a stop payment with their bank it will be within 24 hours. This happened twice and both times before I shipped the item, so I was lucky. Another time I already shipped an item and lost the Paypal case because of no tracking. Luckily it was only worth $9.00. I was able to unmark it as payment sent after a few days and open an unpaid item case through ebay. I figured I'll at least give this scammer an unpaid item strike. The buyer even changed their user id but it shows up on the sold page. Anyways, they ended up closing their account after I opened the case with ebay so it was obvious they were a scammer.

You can wait a day but I got screwed after I left positive feedback, five days after transaction, eBay never removed my positive feedback and I lost C$1,000 no signature for US Expedited, cost for running business online...
