I live in Canada and tried to list a piano keyboard. When trying to complete the listing I had 4.5 hours of wasted time trying to correct a "shipping error" ebay kept saying I had. The ONLY shipping option listed is Canada Post. **bleep**? When I entered the dimensions and weight it said the dimensions and weight were too big. Well what the hell????? I've spoken to 4 customer service reps and every one was in over their heads! Who the hell does Ebay think they are that they are the only ones that can choose who I ship with. One customer service rep told me that because it's Ebay.CA and NOT .COM I can only use Canada Post for shipping? **bleep**??? The information on the listing page is so poorly written and so convoluted that I almost puked on myself after 4.5 hours of pissing around with this unacceptable nonsense from Ebay! Ebay has changed sooooo much in the last number of years that I think they've outlived their use and its time for someone to knock Ebay out of business! Far too many restrictions, stupid rules, poorly written information on web sites, far too complicated, poorly trained customer support staff, executives that HIDE behind the $9.00/hr customer service reps, etc. This isn't the Ebay I remember! So again, my question is this - how do you list an item that is 162cm x 22cm x 11cm and weighs 65kg? The only thing I can come up with is to lie about the weight and dimensions but that isn't helpful to the bidder. Sure would .like some answers as Ebay doesn't seem to have any! Ebay needs to go!!!!! POOR, POOR, POOR infrastructure and even worse instructions and options/tabs on listing and help pages! Come on Ebay, get your **bleep** together or step aside!

You're not limited to Canada Post. If that's the only option you've found in the Sell Your Item form, it's because you, somewhere in your own seller account preferences, have set it up that way. UPS and Fed Ex are also options. As 'Standard Shipping' or 'Freight' or a whole bunch of other choices. Your 4.5 hours of time spent yelling at Canada Post reps might have been better spent looking at your account options or asking someone at ebay for help. People sell entire automobiles on ebay; I doubt they're using Canada Post for that.
Are you really looking for advice? Or is this post simply to get things off your chest? I know they are veteran sellers here who would probably be happy to help someone looking for actual advice but are likely not prepared to flame the fans of a tirade. They're actual sellers with better things to do. Obviously, I'm not one of them.
Good luck as you carry forward.

"Are you really looking for advice?"
Of course it would help to know exactly the weight and measurements of the package (preferably in metric).
While Canada Post is the carrier of choice by most Canadian eBay sellers, there are many instances where a different carrier must be used, mostly due to weight or measurement limitations.

Showing your age again Pierre, lol.
In the OP post

In your listing, at the end of the description, you wrote:
"Contact me for ACTUAL SHIPPING costs as it was too complicated and screwed up to get this ad posted with all the shipping errors that kept coming back to me."
Considering that most viewers and potential buyers seldom read every word of the description, you are asking for trouble. You should find out now how the keyboard can be shipped and what the cost would be.
Take a look at what other eBay sellers are doing as far as determining a shipping carrier and shipping charge. It is all over the map (from "free shipping" meaning the seller absorbs the shipping charge in the selling price to as much as $18,595.64 (from a US seller; it has to be a mistake).

"weighs 65kg"
Cannot be shipped by Canada Post. Period. The listing must be revised.

Have you tried Craigslist or kijjiji?

"how do you list an item that is 162cm x 22cm x 11cm and weighs"
First you find a carrier that will accommodate such parcel and give you a quote on actual shipping charge.
Then, when listing on eBay.ca, you can use Fed-Ex, UPS or select "other" in the shipping method selector.
Same for shipping to the USA

I'm ranting AND asking for help. I spent over an hour on the phone with customer support and they couldn't figure nit out either. Your "advice" that I need to go into my personal settings is wrong!! When listing an item from Canada, in the "shipping" area the drop down menu indicates only various canada post shipping options. The ebay support guy, both of them, couldn't resolve the issue either! My item was oversized for Canada Post so that meant I would need to ship with a different shipper. And, I didn't "yell" at Canada Post, I was "dealing with" Ebay customer support!!! Another thing about this **bleep**py Ebay is their gouging us on final living fees! I've been around ebay since 1998 and have seen numerous changes but sticking it to customers for 10% of the sale price is simply gouging! I can't imagine why anybody would do business with these screw jobs anymore? I think the time is ripe for an enterprising person/group to come along and establish competition for Ebay in the form of an online auction similar to what Ebay used to be about! Ebay is just begging for a kill shot to put them out of their misery. Last night I spent time with a supervisor of customer support and she tried to tell me that Ebay had to raise the rates 2 years ago in order to stay in business. HHahhahah, someone up the chain sure fed this young lady a pile of **bleep**! The other reason given for gouging is that it helps Ebay offer specials and other incentives. WHAT????? That's not my responsibility! That's Ebays job and not out of my pocket! Barratt Jackson is the biggest Classic Car auction on earth. They charge sellers 10% but they actually do much work for that 10%. Ebay has a computers doing 90% of the work and charging 10% is baloney! I'm done with Ebay and I would strongly suggest everybody walk away and just maybe Ebay will get the message!

" in the "shipping" area the drop down menu indicates only various canada post shipping options."
Somehow you are missing the most important link, immediately under the Canada Post services:
Offer additional service

You have to use flat rate/fixed cost shipping. Scroll to the bottom of the shipping option list and click on see other services and it will bring up ups and fedex. If you want to use freight, I think that you have to use the advanced sell your item form. The link for that is on the top right of the syi form page.

Pierre the US listing you found made me look at the .ca and .com of that listing,...In the US the shipping is only $550.00 which still seems very high for that item....Maybe he is shipping the player as well.
To the OP.....I created a situation where I could not anything but Canada Post as a shipper on the listing form. But it disappeared after I cleared my cookies and reloaded the page. It seemed to have remembered in the scripting my previous CP and filled in the blank.
It feels almost good to start getting ready to rejoin the selling community on Ebay.ca.
