We’re changing the way we take action and notify you about policy issues. Read more about it here, and find more details about category exceptions for returns, as well as a reminder about our return time frames. Reply to this post with any questions you have so I can work on getting you answers!

1- Simpler policies...Does that mean that the policies will be the same but written out more clearly? Or are they saying that some policies will be changing but we aren't going to be told what they are until October 1st?
Are far as getting a warning rather than just suspending the person, that's a good thing although that's what should have been happening all along as often the policy violations were just mistakes and not intentional.
2. Returns...I'm confused. This changes were announced a long time ago and I thought that the date to change was a long time ago as well. But we didn't actually have to change them until now??

I rarely compare benefits/disadvantages etc. between .com and .ca however I do have to comment this time. US TRS seller who have 30 day returns will have:
Additional seller protections benefits Return shipping label credit for false “item not as described” claims Up to 50% refund deduction for decreased value on used or damaged returns
https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/seller-updates/2019-fall/seller-protections.html
I actually think that some of these policies are going to cause some hard feelings for buyers and I do think that it would be much better to try and prevent false returns rather than 'protecting' sellers after the fact however, for this to be only for sellers in the US is definitely a disadvantage for Canadians and a bit insulting to be honest. If someone opens a false snad claim a US seller can get it taken off of their metrics or get a negative removed but Canadians cannot? If an item is used when it is returned, a US sellers only suffers a partial monetary loss but we aren't entitled to that?
Perhaps there is something in the works for us but all too often we have heard that we will be getting something down the road and it takes forever to get here..if at all. Are there plans to offer Canadians similar benefits?

Hi @pjcdn2005 - great questions!
1. Policy simplification means a bit of both: policies are being streamlined and simplified. Additionally, communication regarding policies will be clearer and more direct, with the intention of getting you the knowledge you need to fix any issues and avoid them in the future.
2. You're not wrong, this was announced a long time ago - this is more of a reminder than a shift or change.

Hi @pjcdn2005 - We're evaluating the impact of this program and are hopeful to see what can be adapted for eBay Canada. As with any new program or feature, this is something we are starting in one market before releasing to others. We are always working to expand protections for our sellers.
Thanks!
