Multiple items stuck at eIS, is there a reason for the delay?

few weeks ago I ordered a items from the US that ship through eIS and all of them have gotten stuck at ebay's Glendale heights hub. item's arrived at hub within a week, but delivery date is approaching soon.

Is there a reason why nothing seems to be getting updated? is it related to carrier strikes?

Any recent delays  most likely revolve around the volume of shipments that have to be processed due to the  ever changing tariffs being put into affect. If your shipment was to be passed off to DHL eIS would be looking for alternate carriers depending on where you are located.  DHL is currently on strike in Canada.

My packages say at Hub (step 2) since Thursday and I just got an email from DHL that I owed 12$ customs, so eBay’s hub didn’t update the tracking for that item.

Interesting, so DHL is accepting packages to Canada again?

Most of my stuff is just stuck at (Step 2), haven't recieved any emails yet. hoping something happens next week though.

'Interesting, so DHL is accepting packages to Canada again?"

DHL in the USA delivers the package to the border/customs only. The Canadian part of the packages journey will not be handled by DHL in Canada due to the strike.

Isn't the DHL strike over?

Yea, DHL USA brings it to the border and hands it off to UPS, Intelcom or FedEx. The only reason how I found out that the eBay tracking hub wasn’t updating was because I owed customs on one of them and DHL sent me an email telling me that, otherwise it still says at hub (step 2) and no tracking added yet.

I think eBay eis hub is lagging, and nothing is updating in their system, it’s probably down or maintenance. Once it gets to step 2 it’s most likely been shipped with a tracking number but it just isn’t showing it yet.

It's a few days past the expected delivery range... should i just report INR and buy locally?

I can't imagine this is a good business model for ebay to have such a long turnover time at a shipping hub.

Regarding expected delivery dates it's always a good idea to consider those as best case scenarios. For many of the estimates ebay provides they use very similar times. (eBays estimates don't factor rural to metropolitan or vice versa.) All can depend on when item was actually dropped off, if weekends or holidays were envolved, warehouse issues like system overload, weather and  international customs. Customs can take 1 to multiple days for processing. Taking longer with all the tariff bruhaha. It's okay to monitor (remember the last scan is where it was last...not precisely where it is now.)  Best to use some patience before filing an INR. Afterall your seller has limited control once an item has been handed off to the delivery method in play. (As a side according to a few of the help pages customs delays are NOT covered by eBays delivery guarantee.)

Using estimated delivery dates loosely would be ok if it didn't start a countdown for INR reports, also i'm not sure how the seller is even relevant at this point, package has arrived at hub and thus they aren't part of the conversation anymore.

If it's urgent that you have these in time, you could.
If it was a casual purchase, give the seller a break, since they can do nothing once the shipment is in the hands of the eIS.

OTOH, eIS is a Seller Protection program.
The seller's responsibility for delivery ended at the eIS doorstep.

Personally, considering the urgency of the purchase, I might politely let the seller know about the delay then possibly open the Claim, which does not reflect on their selling account.

Pity the poor eIS/DHL clerks trying to figure out what tariffs/duty is due today.  Is there a Canadian counter-tariff  on your product?

And of course, even when the workers were locked out, parcels continued to arrive, giving them a heavier than usual workload.

So how urgent was it?

Same here, I got a package shipped to Ebay EIS (USA to Canada) that arrived at GLENDALE HEIGHTS, IL on june 10 and never move from the Hub (if tracking is good). It's an expensive statue that I really want, I'm stressing about it past 2 weeks. My case is open since about a week, they will reach me in 48h upon last email recieved this morning.

~3.5 weeks ago for the earliest, 2 weeks for the most recent.

also, Pretty crazy how many corporate apologists are in these forums, seems to be the same 3-4 guys on every post replying with PR/GPT responses.

Personally, I'm easily bored.

And so many questions are repetitive I have some canned answers in a text file on my desktop.

There is nothing new under the sun.

If the last estimated date for delivery has passed, you can get a refund, without harming the seller -only eBay and eIS.
And if the item shows up later, it's free.

But mostly.

DON'T WATCH TRACKING

Ok so you have 2 package stuck at GLENDALE HEIGHTS, IL that arrived at different date. Sounds more and more like the HUB is stuck. At least there is more chance we will see our package arrive someday. I wonder if they refund at some point even if the package has some chances to arrive.

Yes.

It's called the Money Back Guarantee.

If the shipment doesn't arrive by the last estimated date for delivery, you can open a claim and be refunded.

As noted in Post 16.

And if the shipment arrives after that it's yours.

Thanks, very helpful!

Is this a common issue? Did your hear anything about the DHL strike (that just end yesterday) in Canada that could affect Ebay EIS?

I just hate the fact that I had no news for weeks. It's a big box with a statue that worth a lot, no chance that they lost it at the hub.

The eIS tracking system isn't terribly good at dealing with items that dead-end at the hub.  The item may have been rendered unforwardable because of damage, for instance, but it's not going to get a scan with information to reflect that.  Other things that may have tripped up the passage of this item could be the value of the item if it's over US$2500, or something simple such as the seller not including a packing slip with the item.
