Oh my, what a night! Not much sleep around here. Hubs phoned @ 3:00 a.m. to tell me that Mum was walking around upstairs - with her lighter - in a flamable nightie...ugh! - becuase she couldn't find the hall lightswitch.
Hubs had put a nightlight in the hall and in her bathroom, but she's complaining that she can't see. Of course, this scared him to hear, so he tried giving her some vision tests. Alas, she was soooo mentally out of it. He took her to the bathroom, then put her back in bed.
He phones again at 6:00 a.m. She's had another stroke. She can't speak or move. I phoned his sisters and they called an ambulance. Paramedics took her to the ER. She didn;t even fight them, which she absolutely would have had she been in her right mind. Hubs says this is it...she will probably not survive the weekend.
😞
Of course, I feel so helpless since I can't be there...got the little one at home here. She's so close to her G-ma that we have to keep things "normal" for her until we hear otherwise from the hospital.
I'm going on adreneline and prayer, downing pots of coffee until the phone rings again. Gonna phone one of her playmate's parents to see if they can take her so I can get to the hospital.
Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts. Please continue them!
Prior, I can't make out your gif pic, but it looks like praying hands with something going up from them. I'm gonna think positive and say that you are trying to be supportive, which is very kind of you, thank you.
Lucie...yes! I get that feeling, too. I'm not sure what actons we will take should Mum survive but be incapacitated from this stroke. I'm sure assisted living arrangements will have to be made. Problem is, the youngest sister has POA and won't invoke it against Mum's wishes, and her wishes have always been: no nursing homes. Ugh, what a predicament.
Shirley...thank you. luv. Knew I could count on you for prayers and support. Bless you.
