Phew, that's good to hear Julie. It sounded like her confusion might have been permanent so it's a relief to know that she's herself again. Perhaps the lack of nutrition also affected her negatively. However, it's still very worrisome for you to know that there's something else wrong that could strike again at any moment. I don't blame her for not wanting the surgery though -- she probably just wants to fully enjoy the time that she has left. It's in the Lord's hands now and he knows what's best so I will pray for all of you so that you can find peace with her decision and enjoy some good days during this reprieve from illness.

Thanks, Lucie. Yep, it's ultimately her decision. She wants quality of life, not quantity, at this point. Can't blame her.

She's better today. Asked for breakfast and ate some broth for lunch. Her spirits are up and she's back to her normal self, personality-wise. They still want to keep her for a few ore days to make shure she's hydrated and watch her blood pressure, which was extremely high when she was admitted.

:) PTL!!

Good Morning..... Here's my prayer for the week..:-D

Senility Prayer

God, grant me the Senility
To forget the people
I never liked anyway,
The good fortune
To run into the ones I do,
And the eyesight
To tell the difference. :-x

Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.

JUST PUSH

A man was sleeping one night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light, and God appeared. The Lord told the man he had work for him to do, and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin. The Lord explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might. So, this the man did, day after day. For many years he toiled from sunup to sundown, his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock, pushing with all his might! Each night the man returned to his cabin sore and worn out, Feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain. Since the man was showing discouragement, the Adversary (Satan) decided to enter the picture by placing thoughts into the weary mind (he will do it every time)!: "You have been pushing against that rock for a long time and it hasn't moved." Thus, he gave the man the impression that the task was impossible and that he was a failure.

These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man. Satan said, "Why kill yourself over this? Just put in your time, giving just the minimum effort; and that will be good enough." That's what the weary man planned to do, but decided to make it a matter of prayer and to take his troubled thoughts to the Lord. "Lord," he said, "I have labored long and hard in Your service, putting all my strength to do that which you have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even budged that rock by half a millimeter. What is wrong? Why am I failing?"

The Lord responded compassionately, "My son, when I asked you to serve Me and you accepted, I told you that your task was to push against the rock with all of your strength, which you have done. Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your task was to push. And now you come to Me with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so? Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled, your back shiny and brown; your hands are callused from constant pressure, your legs have become massive and hard. Through opposition you have grown much and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have. True, you haven't moved the rock. But your calling was to be obedient and to push and to exercise your faith and trust in My wisdom. That you have done. Now I, my son, will move the rock."

At times, when we hear a word from God, we tend to use our own intellect to decipher what He Wants, when actually what God wants is just simple obedience and faith in Him. By all means, exercise the faith that moves mountains, but know that it is still God who moves the mountains.

When everything seems to go wrong . . . . . . . Just P.U.S.H.
When the job gets you down . . . . . . . . . .. Just P.U.S.H.
When people don't do as you think they should . . . . . . Just P.U.S.H.
When your money is "gone" and the bills are due . . . . . . Just P.U.S.H.
When people just don't understand you . . . . . . . . Just P.U.S.H.
P = Pray
U = Until
S = Something
H = Happens

"Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending."

Never stop praying. (New Life Version)

Pray without ceasing. (NKJV)

Just had a quick read back. . .wow! I've been MIA for awhile.

You're welcome, Andrew.

Laurie, Praise the Lord. Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say REJOICE!!

Bette, awesome personal testimony! YES! I believe in and serve a mighty God.

Prayers for Julie's MIL.

Survivornikki, I just want to say thank you and I appreciated your support. I do get a little touchy sometimes, but that is one thing I will NOT joke about. I'm not saying God doesn't appreciate humor - you should see some of His answers to my prayers - more than once, I have looked up and rolled my eyes and said, "this is not funny!!" Nor am I one of those 'stone-faced Christians' . . . anyway, nuff said.

Prayers for whom only God knows the needs.

Well, gotta run -supposed to be at work already. . . enter my workday.

Hope you all have a blessed day.

Got this in my e-mail today from a client who lost her husband a few months ago...Not sure who the author is (maybe it's her?) but it's worth sharing...

Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine.

I got to thinking one day about all those people on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible.

How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn't suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed? Does the word "refrigeration" mean nothing to you?

How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched 'Jeopardy' on television?

I cannot count the times I called my sister and said , "How about going to lunch in a half hour?" She would gas up and stammer, "I can't. I have clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, It looks like rain" And my personal favorite: "It's Monday." She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because Americans cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our headaches. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect!

We'll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained. We'll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet. We'll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.

Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of "I'm going to," "I plan on," and "Someday, when things are settled down a bit."

When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Rollerblades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.

My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process. The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.

Now...go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to...not something on your SHOULD DO list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting?

Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground? Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night? Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask "How are you?" Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head? Ever told your child, "We'll do it tomorrow." And in your haste, not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die? Just call to say "Hi"?

When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift....Thrown away.... Life is not a race. Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.

What a wonderfuly story Julie! I just got back in touch today with an old childhood friend that used to come to our cottage with us many years ago. I found her on "Classmates" and we've made plans to go to lunch asap as she starts radiation treatments this summer for breast cancer. I'm so glad I found her before she was too sick to go ..... you never know what tomorrow holds.

Here's a nice story I got in my e-mail recently too:

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole, which she carried across her neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water, at the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After 2 years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house."

The old woman smiled, "Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?" "That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

SO, to all of my crackpot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!
