Oh, Lucie--you were lucky. There are several local artists that work with sea glass--I have a couple of the pendants. I wear them all summer.

Hi! Prayers for all in the storms' path. ((((Nellie, Marion, Ashley and I am having a senior moment, but the CTSer in Campbell River--so sorry I can't remember your name))). I didn't study the path, so am not sure Ralph and Nicki if it headed your way, just praying for anyone dealing with these storms. I don't envy the outside workers today. I am grumpily muttering about these storms being a month early.

I was a dr.'s this morning and the receptionist said they had lost 1/2 their barn roof. She lives in Sidney.

We had a loop of errands to run, the dr., the pharmacy, a farm run, we had lunch out and just returned home. Yikes! I ran for the tide book, and luckily, the tide is ebbing, so we are very okay for today. DH is madly disassembling the soccer game table--the wind ripped the tarp off and it is soaked. Maybe it will help my game!

Well I don't know if this the end of this storm or the eye, but as I look out my window towards San Juan Island, there is lovely sunshine. Yeaaaaaaaaaa!

Nikki I think it's mostly on the Island and the Fraser Valley, we are getting rain here but that's all so far.

So I have been having my arthritis pain in my ankle for the past week, and since Monday I have been having migrain headaches and dizzy spells so I stayed home from work. This morning I was feeling a little better so I decided to get up and try to go to work for awhile and I put my back out in the shower just trying to wash my feet.

I'm walking like a penguin right now.

Ouch Ralph! That sounds nasty. Muscle relaxants and a heating pad. Don't like the sound of those dizzy spells. Have you spoken to a doctor about them?

Penguin! You and DH should have a foot race. Both of you should get gold medals just for showing up.

When your back is out, you are out. Sorry to hear that Ralph. I have been seeing the Chiropracter lately and have my 7th appointment tomorrow, it's helping. For ongoing spine maintenance it's been recommended I purchase the Teeter inversion gym. Was wondering if anyone has had experience with these which seem to be very popular. Saw them advertised on the Shopping Channel a few days ago.

Hello survivornikki, I suppose I should pull up a seat here as this is where I feel most comfortable. I am really appalled at the blatant references to drug use and culture is some of the other threads.

I am seeing a pattern in this thread which is curious to see the least.

MLM disappears.....

then Lizescloset comes in, and, well we all know what happened there......

...now kraftdinner shows up a couple of days later not exactly being friendly to folks.

I have not read all the threads lately, so I may have missed the ones you are talking about. Mostly, I think posters are just trying to joke around on those threads--just as they do about drinking--and some of us--chocolate. Hope so anyway.

I am glad you are comfortable here--pull up that chair!

Thank you survivornikki. I suppose that in my own life I do not tolerate drugs or drug culture so I am quite offended by it. It really does bother me.

kraft.....I hate most drugs. Hard drug dealers....have no use for them. Catch them....throw away the key. Other drugs..natural ones...helpful ones....I have no problem with. Our whole culture is full of drugs in one form or another. Drugs we take for one pain or ache and as well give to our children (even aspirin is a drug), drugs in our food, drugs in every city and small town sold at Drug Stores, alcohol is even a drug. But....often those 'legal' drugs just create more problems and some people even get addicted. When we joke around about drugs....it's just that....joking. We are not a bunch of 'druggies'.....please don't classify us as such.

I try to give people the benifit of a doubt.

Ramona I don't know anything about who changes names and comes back. We don't agree on everything perhaps but I think I know you well enough to know that you are a nice person.

By the way I have a question for you Ramona: Is there any way that headaches and dizzy spells could be related to appendicitis? Since yesterday I have sharp pains in my appendics area.

I hate seeing doctors. They usually agree with me that I'm not feeling well then ask me to come back and see them in a week. That seems like an incredible inconvenience to me just so they can make money.

I asked my doctor about a diet for gout and he said it doesn't matter what I eat, if I get gout I'll get it no matter what I eat. My own research suggests he doesn't know what he's talking about.
