Oh and Victoria Creams. Christine, if you are the area, and I am on my deathbed--bring me some Victoria creams--a little rise in the blood sugar won't matter then. And while you are at it--some Hershey bars with almonds. I have a few years to make up for!

Victoria Creams are wonderful. Years ago I used to get them as a treat whenever anyone went out west on a business trip. To be young and thin like a rake again.

Nikki glad to hear you made it thru the worst and your gazebo hung on. The price to be paid living on the ocean is high :(

Alison--yup--when you live right on the beach, it is. This storm even fooled my neighbour who has lived here 40 years, she put a garden out front too and she has a retaining wall. The waves just came right over--out went her garden, in came someone else's boat!.

We have told family and friends, if there is a sunami, we are gone, we had great lives, it was quick, don't worry, it is where we wanted our ashes scattered anyway and if we end up feeding the fish, at least we were some use.

I just had my windows washed, and now they are covered in salt. Frankly, I would just put up with it until Spring but I have a group coming for American Thanksgiving and I want everything to look right and huge dirty windows wouldn't add to the picture.

On the other hand, this place brings me incredible joy. I feel like such a lucky duck--all the wandering was worth it.

Ramona... when we were kids we folded the wrapper ... we eliminated the o and r from more. Then we would show it to each other and laugh... get it !! oh lord hope this doesn't get pinked !! read this FAST!!

Christine, When you return home PLEASE make sure there is a designated driver.

I am sure that you will but after being an innocent victim of a drunk driver, I am just trying to make sure that EVERYONE stays safe out there. <>

Glad to hear that you cab it. My son was telling me this evening that certain bars in the city here actually give out $5.00 vouchers that are redeamable for cab fair. I think that is wonderful and I hope that more bars will do this in the future. <>
