Hi Everybody! 🙂 All done with my garage sale. Not as much traffic as the last few years, but wow...I got rid of a LOT of junk! The rest went to Sally Ann, so now I have more room in the garage. Might even be able to actually fit a car in there this winter! :^O

Hope everyone's having a superduper long weekend! I;m off to catch some whitefish with Hubs! 🙂

As for my statement that he is anti Christian, that's not a lie, that is (and remains) my opinion.

Well your opinion would be wrong. Very wrong.

AS for fanaticism, why is it that if someone sides with a sports team, he is called a fan; but if someone sides with Christ, he is called a fanatic?

Who said siding with Christ makes someone a fanatic? I didn’t. I said I wasn’t anti-Christian, just anti-fanatic Christian which indicates there are varied types of Christians as there are varied types of Sports fans. A sports fan who cheers for his team along side people who cheer for their team and each appreciates and has respect for the other is simply a fan. When that fan however gets to a point of hating and condemning the other fans for their beliefs, or calls for their eradication from the earth and tells others to shun these other people just because of what they believe….. then ………that’s a FANATIC FAN.

You understand the difference Tom……try and refrain from playing the games.

Valve, Tom, Ralphie, my opinion, you guys are simply brainwashed beyond help,I consider it a handicap and I honestly feel sorry for you.
There are MANY Christians on this thread who are nothing like you guys.
Boy Tommy, you must really be adversly affected, you think Deacon is really the "Devil" ?? Thats what youy call him....
Is that the devil you guys says is down in hell who we will see if we dont say our prayers ? Or is Deacon just a lowly secondary devil's helper ?? I suppose Deacon won't be entitled to the same rich pension as the "Original" Devil you speak of.
Best Regards....

Bob you can have your opinion about brainwashing as you like. I don't know who it was that brainwashed me though since the day I became a Christian, trusting in my Lord Jesus Christ, I knew of no other person who knew the Lord as I have come to know him. It wasn't until weeks later that I realized there were many believers.

I asked God to let me know who He was and promised Him if He did, I would serve Him. He carried out His end of that agreement and I am trying to carry out mine.

Hi Tom, Nicki and all.

S-Nicki my mother is doing okay. I have been down to see her 3 times since FIL passed away on Feb 15th. She has another lady staying with her and is slowly selling off stuff she won't need in the future. Next Spring or Summer she will move to Salmon Arm, close to us.

There are a lot of changes for her but she is handling it well. She has the support of her JW friends which as you might know can be a close knit community.

Thanks for asking.

Thanks for getting back Ralph. I have no doubt you are sincere in your beliefs and not crazy.

You dont worship Falwell like he was Christ himself. THEN not answer questions when asked about his beliefs.

Some others... on the other hand, I'll just keep my comments to myself, I dont want to offend the challenged.

First I am a man, why do people keep thinking I am a woman?

Second, the pet peeves of one of my university profs was the misuse of the word "norm" It is short for normative nor normal how most people use it. Why do certain posters take offense when you jump to conclusions about their posts yet when you seek clarification they (roll eyes)? Either version of norm would make sense in your post so I asked for clarification and don't get a straight answer. Oh well I tried.

A missionary returning home from Africa, was sharing his story with his church family.

"While serving at a small field hospital, every two weeks I traveled through the countryside to a nearby city for supplies.

This was a journey of two days and required camping overnight at the halfway point. On one of these journeys, I arrived in the city where I planned to collect money from a bank, purchase medicine and supplies, and then begin my two-day journey back to the field hospital. Upon arrival in the city, I observed two men fighting, one of whom had been seriously injured.

I treated him for his injuries and at the same time talked to him about the Lord. I then traveled two days, camping overnight, and arrived home without incident. Two weeks later I repeated my journey. Upon arriving in the city, I was approached by the young man I had treated. He told me that he had known I carried money and medicines. He said, 'Some friends and I followed you into the jungle, knowing you would camp overnight.

We planned to kill you and take your money and drugs. But just as we were about to move into your camp, we saw that you were surrounded by 26 armed guards.'

At this, I laughed and said that I was certainly all alone in that jungle campsite.

The young man pressed the point, however, and said, 'No sir, I was not the only person to see the guards. My five friends also saw them, and we all counted them. It was because of those guards that we were afraid and left you alone.'"

At this point in the sermon, one of the men in the congregation jumped to his feet and interrupted the missionary and asked if he could tell him the exact day this happened. The missionary told the congregation the date, and the man who interrupted told him this story:

"On the night of your incident in Africa, it was morning here and I was preparing to go play golf.

I was about to putt when I felt the urge to pray for you. In fact, the urging of the Lord was so strong, I called men in this church to meet with me here in the sanctuary to pray for you. Would all of those men who met with me on that day stand up?"

The men who had met together to pray that day stood up. The missionary wasn't concerned with who they were, he was too busy counting how many men he saw.

There were 26!
