Royalty cheques.....well anyone can say anything. Roughly 500 bucks first shot and anyone can say they are an author. My dogs could walk across an open blank book and if I paid to publish their prints…..then they too can claim to be an author. Then there are those who write books aimed at people who are having problems, depressed times in their lives, personal loss, just to pander to their wallets....a simple matter for the rogues of society. Religious fanatics do it all the time on TV and in books. Heck….even diet and weight loss books….same deal….billions spent each year by desperate people. So to reap the money laying there to be harvested, the unscrupulous come out with more books and gizmos and gadgets to relieve them of that cash. William Blake and others ‘may’ have been self-published but for anyone to even compare themselves to these authors by name dropping, is an abomination and insult. They write just to lighten the wallets of the venerable.’ Thinking’ people, can see through these people easily.
