I'm a 50's Child

 In the late 50's early 60's when folk discussed the year 2000  I could not imagine it  It was so far away. Now with the Year 2020 approaching my young mind could never have comprehended it happening

Guess I am old  How that happened is beyond me

Became a Sr Citizen in June

Have my bench reserved near the Peterborough Hydraulic Lift Lock to feed the Ducks

Can now go into The Shoppers Drug Mart and feel right about getting the Free Coffee and Cookies

and this is a biggy I was always raised to respect your elders. Have dealt with many in business over the years. While the majority have been great have dealt with some pretty grumpy ones and always bit my lip. Now though I'm in their Club!  Can't wait til I get one now,  I am one of them!

I am a 50’s child too. Turned 65 in July 2019. As with you, 2020 was a long way off back then.

First year Boomer and five years "retired".

I discovered science fiction in 1954 (Have Spacesuit Will Travel- Robert Heinlein) so 2020 doesn't sound so strange to me.

What does confuse me is that 1970 was both 20 years ago and 50 years ago.
